For the record, I'm all for the expansion of the Ford remote service service. They absolutely can come to the office or the house and work on the vehicle. I'm just not willing to let them drive off in it.

In all honesty, it's a bit hypocritical of me. I will generously lend out my vehicles to a certain number of family/friends, although it doesn't happen that frequently. But those same people KNOW how meticulously I take care of my machines.

Folks that work at dealerships are jaded when it comes to vehicles. How else do you explain grease or grime on the headliner, armrest, steering wheel, or........
I'm right there with you snakebitten. I've had my truck for 3.5 years and my wife still hasn't driven it yet... :) Ford can come and perform service in my driveway or I'll drive it to the dealership.

Remote service is great. At least you get a tech. The valet service seems to use "kids" looking for a part time job. Yup, 3.5 years and the wife has only driven around the parking lot once. Still keep the #2 seat position memory for her, though. ?

I totally understand you here! I hate feeling like a "karen" when it comes time to chat about a half-ass job or something left filthy when I dropped off a spotless pickup. That has only happened once with my current Ford dealer, but my closest Nissan dealer was absolutely horrible. Bad enough that I'll never own another Nissan ........ the new Frontier is actually something I was interested in.

I've already got a free oil change & detail service from my dealer because I got into my truck and the steering wheel and seat had grease on them. The service manager went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I purchased my truck from them.

Hi guys!

The bolt on the rear axle is a pain :(
Now in my country no official Ford dealer.

Guys, please tell me the part number of the new axle shaft that the secured with nut. Or is it assembled with the hub? I want to order it. I have no choice. I'm tired of the creaking! ))

My truck went in to the dealership at 11am Monday for replacement axles. It is now Wednesday and still haven't heard a word from them.
The end of this week will be two weeks for me. I received a rental, so it has not been a problem for me. My last update from the dealership was that there has been a delay in receiving one of the axles.

I asked for a pickup due to pre-planned kayak trip this Friday. Hopefully the dealer can find one for me.......or I'll be throwing my Seasucker rack on top of an Escape if they give me one of those hunks of junk again.

Might want to check. It is definitely a same day job, as long as they had the parts in stock.
Parts not in stock had to order. Was told this by several dealerships I called. Was told 2-4 days for repair. I know it is total BS. This recall is a CF. It's a recall FORD, send dealerships some axles to seed their inventory and replace as needed.

It may take a couple of days to order but took seven days for them to receive axles. It did take roughly two hours for them to install. Good luck with your fix!

My dealership informed me that Ford is requiring them to take pictures and order parts based on the vehicle's VIN. They said Ford is not allowing the dealership to have an inventory. It could be total BS, but either way, they completed the recall in two days.

I had mine done last week, and while I did make the appointment a couple weeks in advance, I dropped off at 7am and had it back by 1.

They could have taken it in sooner, but I waited until there was a rental assuming it would be an event.

It's a large dealer up here in Minnesota, so maybe they found a way to sneak parts.... But they certainly did not wait for a photo of my truck to order...

So zero consistency among dealers.

My dealer needed pics of VIN tag on side of door and odometer reading to go along with an open RO. All handled over text. Parts came in so quickly that I had to reschedule because of vacation. Very smooth transaction.
