Haven't heard of them before I'll check them out. By mixed, what do you mean? Not as advertised or problems?
Some claim that it is great while others claim that it is lackluster.

I was on the fence but did want to try them, partly cause I didn’t want to support Sct if I don’t have to. Deep down I’d want a Lund tune if it was possible.
I do believe it is also in trying to compare the older coyote gen to this new gen, when they aren’t 100% the same. I’ll find that out for myself I guess lmao. Oh well.

Every truck I've ever owned, I cut the stock muffler out, put in what I want. Initially I start looking at cat backs, decide it's not worth it. Spend a couple hundred instead.
I think others have done it successfully. But I think it would be tough if you don't weld and would have to "Frankenstein" something together in order to replace just the muffler due to the immediate bend the tail pipe takes coming out of the factory muffler.

I know exhaust threads are annoying, but being unfamiliar with Fords(former GM guy) I want the opinions of this forum.

Every truck I've ever owned, I cut the stock muffler out, put in what I want. Initially I start looking at cat backs, decide it's not worth it. Spend a couple hundred instead.

I'm already dumping a ton of money into it to get it where I want it. This includes Eibach coilover kit, Icon UCAs, S&B intake, 33 inch bf KO2, LineX, 3M all over the place, Bak X4S, kickback flaps, and tinted front windows. So to drop $1000+ just to make it sound better seems rather pointless. Durability is the main concern I suppose. I live in Canada, they salt the roads, welds on the muffler would rust. I play in the mountains, like DEEP in the mountains, on very rough turkey trails and logging roads. So the undercarriage can get dinged.

Do these 5.0's benefit in any way from a cat back system? Or is it merely a fact that the welded on muffler wouldn't last as long? Eventually the welds always rust out on em(years later).
Make, model. Manufacture, are all same. Meaning cat backs provide nothing to performance. Spending 1200+ on a cat back is a huge waste of money. The only exception is if the stock pipes are rusted and need replaced, and owner decides to go stainless.

If you want sound, replace muffler. If you want performance add a tune and/or boost.

Cat backs and CAI will not increase performance on their own.

Headers and a true dual system will add some.

Interesting I didn't realize it wasn't a straight shot. It's -35 here right now so I can't say I've crawled underneath yet haha

IMO with just a muffler replacement,most shops use a cheap muffler that will rust out,plus the welds will start to rust pretty quick. I would suggest a resonator delete pipe or a cat back system. I put a Magnafolw system on the 2018 FX4 that I had. It bolted right up deep tone with no drqone at highway speeds. Another thing to consider is if you have a 5.0 with cylinder deactivation,when it cuts back on the cylinder the funky tone is more noticable. It comes down to personal preference

My personal opinion is cat backs do nothing but sound. Especially with the 5.0 muffler which happens to be straight through anyway.

You make good points! Does removing the resonator do much? I just want a low rumble not a rap, snap or rasp or anything like that. Nothing too obnoxious. Seems these 5.0's sound quite different from the GM engines. I've listened to a ton of sound clips and magnaflow was one of the ones that sounded closest to what I like.

yes its the sport. im swapping to extreme.
no crackle or pop unless you sit still and floor it.
