Wondering if anyone here has either of the 3" Borla Cat-Back systems on their 5.0? Looking for opinions on sound outside of Youtube videos, and wondering if these have any drone. From what I have seen, the 5.0 needs a resonator to avoid drone or to avoid hearing the cylinder deactivation.

I've been going back and forth on exhaust systems for my soon to arrive 2022 F150. Looking for something that is fairly loud, but nothing extremely loud to annoy the neighbors and no drone on the highway. I've mostly narrowed it down to these three but could be persuaded elsewhere. Either of these sound awesome in clips, but I am concerned with drone on the MBRP systems and possibly that cold starts will be too loud with the Borla.

I know it's not what you're asking for since my truck is a 3.5 Ecoboost, But I do have the MBRP: S5209409
4" Cat Back, Single Side, Race, T409 SS with the MBRP: T5053BLK Black tip on the way.
Have to say I am extremely happy with this Exhaust. Since I am not using the resonator, I was a little worried it might be too loud but it's not. When you get on it its very aggressive but most of my driving its very casual sound. I do long drive's to AZ and there is no drone. Very soft at 75MPH. Highly recommend it. There are videos on their site and YouTube
showing the sound of the 5.0

Appreciate the feedback! Going to look into both of those more. I still keep going back to the Borla S Type but trying to watch as many videos as possible before I decide.

I have the MBRP 3" Street with resonator installed, it has a deep throaty cold start and settles down to a nice idle. (5.0)
The MBRP does drone quite a bit and I wouldn't buy it again.

Thanks, that’s exactly the info I am looking for. I love the deep tone in all the sound clips I’ve heard but was worried about drone. I think I’m going to pull the trigger on the Borla.

Same here! I was debating on MBRP, Borla or Corsa. I'm leaning on Borla S type now thanks to this comment.

Try removing the resonator

I think removing the resonator would make the drone worse from what I've read on reviews.
