I love my PB. (especially when the whole neighborhood is without power and my truck is powering my entire house) I had just one issue with the passenger-side tail light: the turn signal stayed on all the time. I got it replaced under warranty. Now at 57,000, with no other problems (so Far)

Mine has been rock solid other than replacing the OEM 12V battery which I did myself in 5 minutes. Zero time in the shop for anything other than regular maintenance. 2021 Lariat here.
Absolutely zero power train related issues so far in my 22. 26k miles

You're kidding, right? Feel free to read any of my posts and educate yourself on the shit that's been happening to my PB shit wagon if you're looking for validation bud.
Why would I go looking for them? I see you bashing without explanation, which is normal trolling behavior. Get a grip or trade your truck for something better for you.

It's a common thing on any forum now a days. and also as @HammaMan said, run the numbers and look at the overall percentages of no issues compared to issues. I will say it's unfortunate there are individuals that have been the unlucky ones to have non-stop issues which more times than not seem to be their dealers look to be the root cause of their grief. But I agree with you, if you aren't happy then get rid of it and move on.

I promise you the crappy payload numbers are not the only downside to owning a PB shit wagon. I've never had a vehicle in my life that had so many issues all the time. The mechanics at my location dealership know me so well they are on a first name basis with my children.
Sorry to hear that, but my experience has been the complete opposite

Currently on my second PB. First truck was a '22, no powertrain issues. Three recalls, new 12V battery, and front axle seal leak in 37k miles.

Current truck is a '24 with 5k miles on it. Only issue was the AGS actuator died around 1k miles.

CR does a terrible job differentiating between vehicle issues and engine/powertrain specific issues. Just the way they choose to spin the data to get clicks and reads.

Remember....trust, but verify.

You would go look for them because you appear to be extremely interested in the issues I've been having with my PB in particular. Its good to be curious, don't quit on yourself now! You also seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding on what trolling on a forum is. Perhaps you can re-read your first post to me and hopefully that'll help you understand. Take care bud, go hit a punching bag if you're butt hurt about something and looking for an easy way to vent rather than arguing with someone on a forum.

1) Conceptually, the exhaust heat exchanger and belt starter/generator are useless and need to vanish. So far I have killed the exhaust heat exchanger, and would/will gladly nix the starter/generator if I can size a smaller belt and ensure that the absence won't put the truck into limp mode.
2) The vehicle is extremely reliable. The ProPower is extremely useful. The engine/powertrain is superior to everything BUT the 6.7 Powerstroke and the short-lived 3.0L Lincoln Aviator hybrid PHEV (RIP). A bored/stroker 3.0=>3.5L Powerstroke mated to the 100 HP Aviator motor and a 10R140 would've been an absolute monster in a Superduty, and it is a shame we never got one.
3) The Powerboost is very much a proof-of-concept/beta-test vehicle. I won't reiterate my crazy wish list here, but the Ramcharger is the only thing that competes with the PB right now and the EB is lightyears ahead of the Chrysler 3.6L. I think that we have another 5-10 years before the various ideas in play are really sorted out, and the PB is a great placeholder.
4) The XLT 302A is just phenomenal value. All of the higher end creature comforts dovetail into it pretty easily if you want them, and most of them can be implemented at or above the level on a Lariat. Mine actually gets entered as a Lariat if I visit a dealer that I haven't been to before.

For #1 the BISG is gone for 24+ so that's a start. #2 sounds amazing but I've never been able to justify a SuperDuty for my use (even an F150 is stretching it TBH).

FWIW my '24 PB has been great so far but it's still fairly new (just hit 1,500 miles since buying in Oct) so we'll see how it goes...

I love my 22 Powerboost, but I have to agree with CR. Reliability wise, mine has sucked.

Everything has been warranty.

I’ve had 14 different recalls.

I’ve owned it for 30 months. It’s been in the shop 30-40 days. Mostly waiting for parts…

Exhaust heat exchanger
2 cats cleaned
2 cats replaced
12V battery
Belt integrated starter generator

We can love the truck- and I do…but we can also admit Ford really blew the execution on this one…

I paid $74k

Trade in is $35k. 53k miles, less than 3 years old.

I should have just bought the Coyote!
I had a ‘21 xlt PowerBoost, sticker was 65,000$ CAD. Drove 70,000km and just treaded in for 40,000$ and got a new lariat, had no issues with it other than the 12v battery and a broken cv axle

I’m happy to hear that most owners chiming in have had better luck. Maybe I just got a problem child. It’s a shame cause I absolutely love the truck. But the long and the short of it for me is the vehicle averages 1.25 days per month out of service since I bought it. And everything outside of the recalls that required service are hybrid specific- and it’s either waiting for parts or waiting for a tech who’s allowed to work on it. Stock 3.5 eco engine, chances woulda been good it never needed service aside from a pile of recalls. Price of being an early adapter versus a K.I.S.S. kind of guy??‍♂

I have the 21 Lariat as well and never a problem. Changed the junk tires it came with and still on the original battery that just threw up it's first warning during the last cold spell. I use the hell out of the generator. Not sure how others get along without it.
I think a lot of the complainers would be doing the same or worse with something else. It's just their nature.
Would the "junk tires it came with" be the Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT's? What improved with your replacement tires?

I had the Pirellis. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them junk myself, but the Michelin LTX’s on her now are a hell of a lot better with rain, snow, and mud. The Pirellis didn’t last terribly long either- 40,000 miles they were cooked. I’m used to getting 70-80,000 on a set of Michelins

67500 miles on my 21. Hybrid drive was replaced at 5k miles, it’s been a great truck ever since.

OP I think you got a lemon. I understand how angry you are, and don’t blame you for such a bad experience. I think it would be a lot better if Ford Dealerships had great customer support, however it’s definitely a crap shoot.
