13k / almost 1.5 years on a 2024 5.0L. OE battery. I drive it every day about 30 min to get to work. The battery used to hold a 70% SOC. Now it will drop to 45-50% overnight and typically will charge back up to 53%. The last 2 weekends, I took it for a 1.5 hour ride and it still wouldn't charge over 58%. No issues starting, but It did go into sleep mode overnight a couple times and the trailer light check on the Ford Pass wouldn't work with a poor battery health error message.

Have same year and Battery Management System (BMS) shutdown ancillary systems when not in use recently. Couldn't unlock from passenger door, no area lights when I approached vehicle... Reset the BMS. (I like to say you face Detroit and click the heels of your Safire Slippers together 5 times and repeat "No truck like Ford" 3 times) That's took care of it for a now. It is going into my third winter which I'd like to make it through before changing batteries.

In the meantime I'm ordering an OBDLink diagnostic tool to get a better grip on things like this.

Ford OE batteries are absolute crap. There's plenty on here, myself included who barely got 1.5-2 years out of them before they failed. Put it on charge to bring it up to 100% then have it tested. Chances are it will likely be bad. You might be lucky and the dealer will replace it but it's just swapping crap for crap. If it is in fact bad then go get a new one from WalMart. The are typically $50-75 cheaper than the local parts houses. While you're at it if you may as well upgrade the H6 pr H7 Ford installed for an H8. It'll fit but the battery blanket will need some modification. After that go in with Forscan to the BCM and increase the battery SOC from Ford's default 80% to 95-98% and put the new battery on charge for a few hours just to be sure it's topped up.

I got 3 years out of the oem batteries in my 2022 Powerboost.

But my truck was shipped immediately, rather than stored in the Covid lots in Dearborn. And I nursed the batteries relentlessly with external charging everytime the resting voltage dropped below 12.3V

I don't think they had a chance of lasting that long if I hadn't protected them from spending time at life depleting low voltages.

It really helps now with Ford's improved charging algorithm. As anemic as it is now, it used to be worse!

Same here. No charger. Treated the same as the 1969 Mach1 I had in high school.

You might reset the BMS and see what happens. I fought with mine for over a year on my original battery. The BMS was misinterpreting something with it (i guess) and would start under-charging the battery after a few weeks.

I still don't quite understand what the deal was, I had no problems for the first year, but then I started getting the "system off to save battery" messages. Once I'd reset the BMS, it would be fine for 6-8 weeks and then it would start doing it again. The battery itself seemed to be fine, because this went on for over a year and I never experienced any actual issues related to a bad battery other than the message. It always tested fine at the dealer, so they wouldn't replace it at first and just told me I needed to drive it more since I take a lot of short trips. After about a year of it I finally threw a fit and they replaced it. I've had the replacement for 2 years now and have not had a single issue. SOC has been 70%+ any time I've ever checked it. My driving habits haven't changed at all.
