I definitely would spend the money and see. Its amazing and it's nothing more than a dash cam. Even if you get dinged . " Like that will ever happen " it's worth it.
It sure won’t be the primary offense for sure! But as a side offense that an officer with a stick so far up its hanging out of his mouth might mention then.. ? I’ve seen sport cars dinged for front license plates before on a slow day

You live in a nanny state where it illegal to have a dash cam or something?
I woukd think you have a right to record accidents. Or do the cops want to limit you from presenting evidence to illegal stops?

You need to review 169.72. It allows for driver monitoring equipment under the review mirror. If your worried you need to review the laws. The way i read it your fine.
Unless your scared of the cops taking away your rights or you are afraid that they might find your weed.
I would mount it no matter what. Get that ticket and fight it. The device is qualified.

Install has gone smoothly thus far today. However, I am currently stuck on the “Registering Device…” screen. 15-20 min.

Normal? Turn off truck and walk away?

I have to wait a couple of days for the mount to cure so no major rush.

I suspect you installed the stable branch. Comma has some form of undocumented hardware change that doesn't seem to work with the stable branch (which is pretty old). Staging-2.1 seems to install okay. You can trigger a factory reset by doing a power cycle and tapping the screen a bunch during bootup. Use the custom URL:

installer.comma.ai/bluepilotdev/staging-2.1

What are ambient temps like where you are?

I finally was able to reinstall my 3x.
Everything works again. I notice that on my ips screen it switches from lane centering on to lane centering off.
This is new or I don't remember seeing that. The info pops up for about 4 seconds then gies away. I'm using my 3x on ACC mode.

I did install “stable” branch via the bitly link shared. Sorry if I missed something here.

Followed instructions above and it successfully installed and is ready for calibration. I’ll unplug for now to let the mount cure.

Ambient temp ~58 degrees. I saw your post stating ~3 hrs at 60 degrees. I should be good to go later this afternoon.

Absolutely life changing.

60+ mi one way commute this morning - maybe touched the steering wheel once. I would rate performance of the system at 99/100. Only on the most dramatic switchback curves halfway through the drive did I have the slightest bit of caution - but still didn’t need to intervene.

A very sincere THANK YOU! to everyone who has selflessly worked on this. It’s everything I hoped it would be.

I agree. This is so much better than Bluecruise. And no subscription!

In the main menu. Under sunny pilot settings is bluepilot. Sunny pilot has a bunch of settings but pressing bluepilot the screen is black. There is nothing there. I remember there was a bunch of settings that I could mess up.
Is the blank menu a fail safe to keep me out of anything I might break? Lol

Nope, should be working. I'd reboot and see if it helps.
