Well, well, well... anyone have any insights into this? After seeing some of the recent MY24 spy shots and seeing a pic of the APIM screen with a very different layout, along with some Mandarin text on the screen, I did some looking around. Sure enough, the China spec Raptors have their very own unique APIM/Sync software. Check out the pics and links below to get a better view of it, but looks like a pretty cool layout and somewhat but not completely different than what we have.
I did some more sleuthing and got a VIN off the link below, then compared the asbuilt to a US spec 22 Raptor and there are some differences, but the biggest I notice was the APIM hardware part number, strategy code, and software part number are all completely different from each other. Also noticed a Baidu logo in once screen which makes more sense, especially since they and Ford have been teamed up for some time working on self driving projects.
Luckily, a friend of a friend of mine actually works for Ford on the Sync software side. He was on the F150 Sync 4 group early on but has been on the new Mustang Unreal team for a while now. He said from what he knows it's just the different regions and software restrictions in place. Maybe because Sync is Microsoft? He said China has a totally separate team of developers working on their infotainment and is weird all the amount of double work that is going for the different versions.
