So the end of the story is I got the truck running with the help of Jesse. I think contributed issues was a low charge in the battery even though it showed 12.5 in fdrs.
I had a big charger that outputs. Trickle, 10amps, 20amps , 40amps and 50amps starting.. I had it set to 20amps all day but after using a meter I found it was only putting out 12.1 volts at 20amps. When I moved it to 40amps it output 13.5volts. I let it charge all night. When returning this morning the voltage showing in fdrs was 15.2v
Jesse logged in and did some things and the truck started. Yay!!
Also the apim updat finally finished.
All that's left is getting that dam heat exchanger issue fixed. That's going to be a month.
I'm out of fdrs and only have the temp display change to do in forscan.

One thing I'm super worried about is while in fdrs I saw that the truck logs everything I do .
I wonder if a fird technician will see that I had over 50 things I did yesterday. As a matter of fact there is a log of all my messing around going back months.
Is that going to be a issue with warranty?

But I want to shout out to Jesse. I really appreciate his help.

This goes way more in depth.

You may need to do a bms reset for it to see the actual charge level.
Thank you for posting that

I hope that you sent him "a nice chunk" of money via Paypal!??

He is definitely smooth in the app. It's hard to follow his movements.
I tell you what. If there wasn't guys like Jesse, hammaman , powerbotor and yes IL say it snakebitten I don't think I would enjoy the truck so much. I read solutions and gain enough to do minor work.
This is an excellent group.
Except one guy I had to block. Lol

It does log everything, even if you have the PTS subscription and poke around wiring diagrams as I was doing. You can see anything dealer does as well but it hides dealer login id. I doubt any concerns with warranty using Ford designed systems to work on a Ford vehicle. I don't lose any sleep over it.

At the time my truck was enabled with several codes and nit wanting to start I started thinking it was going to be towed in.
When I came across the history tab and realized that every single thing in fdrs was documented I got worried. That day I had 40 things I tried to bring it back. I felt some tech could say it was me that screwed things up and there won't be warranty.
In that case he would be right.

I tried to delete all logs only to find the service logs to be held with Ford. Expectantly.

"hides the dealer ID" - so, does it hide the dealer ID just from individuals like you and me, or does it hide the dealer ID from everyone - including other dealerships?

From my understanding when I asked Rugedraw he can see my login ID on PTS on vehicle history. I think dealer access can see everything and non-dealer access like us can't see login IDs, but we can see what they clicked on just like they can see what we click on. When you do updates it will show up in history the options you clicked during the update process.

Again using Ford software to work on Ford vehicles. It's fairly idiot proof by design so I'm not sure that it can permanently break our trucks. I'm not worried about warranty issues because I was looking at CHMSL wiring diagrams for example.

I've never used Jesse's assistance yet, but am considering sending him cash on retainer for when I do screw up and need his help. Everything I read says he is a rock star.
i guess Spiffy is only on the forum if hes messed up something.

I'm on the forum all the time. I check all the questions and answers. Many things i read help me to enjoy the truck. There is long stretches of time where what i read dont need any response from me. Just because i dont offer advice doesn't mean im not a valid member
Many here have better advise than i can give. Sometimes i ask questions and take the advice if some very helpfull people. I'malways thankfull for the peope here. If you'd quit running your keyboard you can see my activity from the day i bought this truck. Normaly i would let a comment like that go but youinsinuated something i dont quite understand So tell me what's considered a valid forum member? I guess you don't approve. What prompted you to say that?

I was trying to update the apim.
I'm getting service vehicle soon
System shift fault l
Now the truck won't start. Says I need to shift to park to start.
Service Advanced track

Also I keep getting the apim update message on the screen to turn off truck, wait ten min and start. Apparently the apim update is still running.

I swear if I get this truck running I won't mess with it again.
I need help in many ways.
I am a new owner as of a couple of months ago and I ran into the same issue. I assume your truck is keyless.
Assuming it is already in "Park", press and hold your foot on the brake and then press the start button. The seat will go to previous position and It will say you are in an active electric driving mode.
I tried moving the shifter handle into "Reverse" with my thumb but remembered to use my four other fingers instead and squeeze inward like when grabbing a handle or similar. It will then release to allow you to shift into whatever position you want.
Hope this helps if you haven't already figured it out.
