It sounds like it's time to lawyer up. Did you sign a work order? Just curious because a lot of dealerships don't ask for a signature up front. Also, did they give you a loaner car? If not, you should also have the lawyer ask for reimbursement for the payments you have made while it sat at the shop waiting for repair. Your lawyer will be able to advise you of anything else you should ask for. Best of luck. I believe you will win this one especially since the truck is under basic warranty, unless you added some aftermarket items in/behind the dash.

While I agree with you...how does this sentiment help the OP? They have his property and are effectively holding it hostage.
He doesn't need permission to regain possession of his property.

Alternatively if it's not easily accessed to regain possession, it could be pursued under stolen property / grand theft auto with the initial service individual and any subsequent manager over him that was spoken to as being parties. Simply go to whatever law enforcement agency serves the area file the report. Remind them that their job is to file the report when/if they try to weasel out of it.

Wouldn't be surprised to see more of this going forward given the recalls / warranty costs ford has cost themselves. Most of which is their own fault. At the same time dealers or techs in specific might be flagged for nonsense they've pulled / tried to pull.

All they do on here is open a customer support case then contact the dealership. Sometimes you get a decent service agent who will actually help you. However, most of the time it's a waste of time as they are basically useless.
Is this statement based on personal experience, or hearsay?

If they have had the vehicle for 30+ days without fixing it, it's a Lemon Law violation. And, yes, I know this from personal experience.
1-800-lemonlaw!!!!!!!! DO IT!

I had a loose part sliding back and forth behind my instrument cluster. So I took it to the dealer almost three weeks ago. They agreed there was a noise and started to dismantle the dash.

Now they say there is noise but can’t find the root cause because they can’t be paid by Ford for the work that they won’t release my truck!!!!!

It has sat for so long that the Battery Saver has shot off FordPass!!! My truck is being held hostage. They won’t work on on it or put the dash back together

I tried calling Ford Customer Relations and all they did was repeat the lies of the dealer. The clown there said “I’m happy to document your issue.” Good lord.

Any ideas or help? I just want my truck back. How is it legal to not work on my truck nor return it to me?
I think you should contact Ford Customer Service ASAP. My guess is they don't know anything about the request for warranty work. I call this number my dealer gave me and people seem to pick up and really help. 800=392-3673

Sorry y'all had bad experiences with @Ford Motor Company . (n)(n)

However, it seems to me it would be more helpful to the forum if you would all quit with the "never helps anyone" and "always fails" - and just spoke to your personal experience. Hyperbole is rarely the answer.

There are many cases on this forum where members have stated they have been helpful. And it seems, many cases where they have been anything but helpful.
