Coming up on 3 years with the original glass. Have had a small chip for 2+ years that hasn’t grown so I’m leaving it until it becomes a problem.

3 years and replaced it once. Have a couple of stars on the passenger side and I am waiting for it to crack or get one in my vision. I have mine tinted so I have to replace it. Most of my miles (45k) are highway.

I have a2015 platinum that I went through 4 windshields in the first year. I put little plastic guard on the front of the hood and have only replaced one since. They were all ford oem glass.
My new 2023 kr is a little over a year old. Never have had a issue yet. No guard on it.
Never figured out why the platinum went through so many...

Just look at the roads now days they are terrible. Look at all the small gravel/road cracks making lots of projectable’s on the side of the roads. Sure glass is not as good as it use to be but neither are the roads.

Dump trucks are a scourge and must be avoided at all costs! Their tattered little canvas covers do little to prevent the maelstrom of missiles from battering your beautiful truck until it looks no prettier than a Ram. I utilize the ludicrous speed function built into my PowerBoosts’ accelerator pedal to blast ahead of the menace before it can cause damage.

'22 with about 23k miles and no issues yet. I work in a heavy building construction and road construction area so I'm surprised I haven't had any issues yet. There was one dump truck merging onto the highway that chucked a good sized rock that hit the windshield I was surprised didn't cause any damage last year.

I always use the furthest adaptive cruise setting and tend to keep my distance from cars in front of me when traveling above 45 so maybe that's helped, or maybe I've been lucky.

Had one repair job that's been holding good. But I think this truck is going to go through a few. They are pretty aero and massive. I'm @25k and probably a half dozen rock strikes, there are a few other chips but not worth repairing.

you must tailgate often or just have really bad luck because modern day pickup trucks are less prone to windshield chips.. lol

Not a F150 thing. Auto windshields in general.

Been driving for over 40 years and have owned countless vehicle. Never had a crack or chip until around 2014.
Now it is a common occurance.

My wifes 22 subaru and my 22 f150 bith have a chip we need to get fixed.

Sure it has to do with federal regulations and how they are made to pass said regs.....governemt is always at fault.

I have one repaired crack and one half moon that needs filled, but I am still on the original windshield. I45 and I20 are hell on windshields (giant stretches of construction with big vehicles going top speed over them), so it's a worst case scenario. I'm impressed by Ford if not by TxDOT.

Same here. Mine is behind the mirror and can't see it from driver's seat. Plus, the front windshield has XPEL 70 on it. So unless it runs, get's worse, or takes another hit, etc., it'll stay chipped until I sell it.
