I greatly enjoy the factory integrated keypad on my two F150's (in the door handle on my one-owner 2005 XLT, on the vertical door panel of my 2002 Lariat). Never even a thought about an enclosed battery dying at some point, the '05 keypad still works great after 20 years. (y)

But yeah, things change, and I think this one is far from a better idea. The only upside I can see is that at least there's a functional alternative available, albeit a bit cheesy mounting and dependent on an enclosed battery. :frown:

Dear Astounded:

I'm not really "shocked or greatly surprised" by posts like yours, but I do wish there was an unlike button for them, or better yet, that they didn't exist.

So you're telling us that you're surprised by folks on a F150 forum, discussing changes to a F150 that they don't like? Did someone accidently sign you onto this forum and make you read these posts?

Also, you might want to calibrate your outrage meter. I see no outrage, just folks commiserating about a change that they do not like. One could assume that since Ford sells almost 3/4 of a million trucks each year, that their millions of customers all have various features that are near and dear to them.

What other things astound you? Are you shocked when you watch a soccer match that people are actually trying to kick a ball?
You had me at "Dear Astounded". Thanks for the chuckle.

VFL3Z-9920554-D I believe is for the using the existing wiring in the door.
24’s supposedly don’t have the door wiring.

I've seen posts of 25's having the wiring. When I get mine I'll be checking when I add sound deadening.

Mine keep them asking for a "FACTORY CODE" so I can't set mine.

The keypad is the main reason I didn't consider buying another brand of truck when I purchased my '24. I use the keypad almost everyday. Super handy when going to the beach, pool, etc. Seems like a really bad decision by Ford to drop it. Hopefully, they realize and bring it back.

Well for some of us when a company starts going in the wrong direction. Screwing over their customers with excessive cost cutting and what seems like more time at the dealership dealing with repairs. Our only retaliation as customers is to stop purchasing their new trucks. And I know I'm not alone in this.
I don't necessarily disagree. Go back and read my FIRST sentence that you quoted.

They didn't drop it. They just made it a dealer-installed option.

I find it a useless item I never use. The past three trucks since 2018 all had it and never used it, nothing to cry about here.
