I am by NO means a fuel miser with my vehicles BUT with the new addition of a ‘22 PB, it’s like a video game to see how high I can get.

I bought the truck for the overall pkg: power, luxury, tow capacity, & great mileage relative to what it can do.

Normal mode (not seeing anything significantly better in ECO & can’t stand the muted throttle response when I need it)
I had a decent length trip that I took my time (traffic & many side roads plus almost half highway) and was surprised with the results. Expecting even better after swap out of tires.

Before final highway stretch of trip
(Adaptive cruise was low MPH because I had it manage stop & go traffic for a bit)

It’s range is just a TAD better than my Shelby after I filled it yesterday ???

Hi All!
Trying to confirm the fuel tank size for the 3.5L PowerBoost Hybrid.
Looking at dealer inventory and pulling up their window stickers, all it says is "standard fuel tank".
From the order guide, it looks like the 36 gal tank is "deleted" when selecting the PowerBoost hybrid option.

Does that mean 23 gallons, and is there an option available to increase that to 36?

Thanks a lot!
My 2021 PB Lariat had a 32 gal tank. I used to run it down to 31.5. I just picked up a 25 Platinum, I will let you know in a week or so when I fill it up for the first time if I get to run it down to the fuel light (or lower). My 2018 2.7 Lariat had the "available" optional 36 gal tank, that I surely miss.. On a trip I got 770 mile on a full tank. Detroit to Minneapolis non stop..

Kudos on your Ford "stable" Shelby Legendary. Thanks for buying Fords, you are helping to support my retirement... PS: I also use to get 28MPG on my 21 PB on short trips...

You do realize the Powerboost is only equipped with a 30.6 gallon tank, right? Are you sure your 2021 wasn’t just an Ecoboost with the 36 gallon tank. If the factory accidentally installed a 36 gallon tank on a Powerboost, talk about lucky!

One aspect that surprised me about my PB's 30.6 gallon gas tank is how little fuel is left when the Range reaches 0 miles to go. I'm used to 2.5 gallons remaining with my old RAM's 32-gal tank read zero. I had 0.5 gal left when I filled up my PB last month when the readout was 0 miles remaining. Have other PB owners seen the same? An important aspect to know when you traveling long distances out West..

wouldn't it overlap the battery?
I honestly don’t know really. I heard cuz of the weight and also heard cuz of the size, but then why doesn’t the 157” get the 36 gal tank if it’s just the size.

Perhaps the 36 gallon tank mounting location occupies space needed for the battery pack. They might not adjust tank location with wheelbase.

Yeah likely so. Would be nice though. Regardless, the way the PB that I rented last summer sipped the gas even when I was going 80 mph, range won’t be an issue with the one I’m purchasing.

The next time I tow a RV trailer will be the first, but I do drive for trips and 3 and half hours of driving at a safe speed over 250 miles and we will be ready for a break. I think it’s a very doable range. Not the best of the best with regard to range, but not crippling either. Now once you arrive it reigns supreme!
