Yeah likely so. Would be nice though. Regardless, the way the PB that I rented last summer sipped the gas even when I was going 80 mph, range won’t be an issue with the one I’m purchasing.
I honestly don’t know really. I heard cuz of the weight and also heard cuz of the size, but then why doesn’t the 157” get the 36 gal tank if it’s just the size.
You do realize the Powerboost is only equipped with a 30.6 gallon tank, right? Are you sure your 2021 wasn’t just an Ecoboost with the 36 gallon tank. If the factory accidentally installed a 36 gallon tank on a Powerboost, talk about lucky!
Yup. When I’m driving my in-laws’ 2010 Town Car, I‘m always having my foot to the floor, looking for more. I have to hit the O/D disable button on the shifter when driving in moving traffic below 55 just to have a little more torque on demand. That is the wrong vehicle to be in when you’re in a...
Good choice in tires, I’m on my second set right now. In fact, since they have less than 10k miles, I’m swapping them out with the tires on the new truck since it has 34k on them. They outperform all but 1 brand of all-terrains (barely) in snow and ice. I dunno why they still don’t have a severe...
Well remember, the base lariat was discontinued for a couple years. They’re only now being brought back for 2025. The 302a was nicely equipped for 2024 and older, and the lariat immediately started with the 501a which was like what, 7-8 thousand dollar difference? Now the 303a for 2025 models...
Really? That’s good to hear! I’m trading my 2012 for a Powerboost as well. My 2012 has the 3.5 and 36 gal tank and in the winter I’m lucky to get 17 on the hwy, going 72-74 mph on a long road trip. 570-610 miles was about all the range I’d get. Hoping the Powerboost does better. The rental...
I have one mpg photo of a 2024 XLT Powerboost 4x4 that I rented back in June for a long road trip. It’s not a trip meter, but it was taken after about 1000 miles of fast hwy driving. From Louisiana to New Mexico, it held around 22 mpg while cruising at 78-80 mph the whole way. Went down to 21...
I rented a 2024 Powerboost 301a 4x4 from Enterprise for a 10 day, 4000+ mile family trip to Arizona. Let me just say I was rather impressed with the mpg at Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona interstate speeds of 75-82 mph!
Going from New Orleans on up through Shreveport, Dallas, and Amarillo...
The only GM 1/2 ton truck I’ll accept low 7s 0-60 is the 3.0L baby-max diesel. 30 mpg going 75 would be awesome! Although, passing power is not that great above 65 mph, 0-40 will plant you to the seat! It is very close to making the same amount of hp and tq as the first gen 6.6 duramax.
You’re absolutely right. If I owned Raptor, wouldn’t care either. Yes the non-Raptor F150 beat the raptor in dirt, but it wasn’t washboards and whoops that would bottom out any lesser truck and rattle your teeth off. I bet the Super Duty drivers don’t really care either, although the new H.O...
