Roger that! Red cars are police magnets. My wife had a Mazda MX6 many years ago when we were dating. Doing nothing wrong, I was pulled over on multiple occasions, never ending with a violation. I've now vowed to never own a red sports car. It's trouble for me even when it's parked ?

Car wash took off my license plate bracket. I screwed it on. I haven't had any issues with ACC, etc.

I am in NJ too and installed with the provided license plate holder. The way I figure is if it was really going to be an intercooler issue, Ford would not have given me the holder to mount there.

Knock on wood. I haven't had my front plate on my PB for almost a year now.

That costs more and the plastic plate frame is totally optional.

I have seen a third option that mounts on front of grille but that will be fugly. Website doesn't have any photos of it in use.

Hmm, @Big Dog Daddy 's 2021MY plate

Seems to be mounted lower / 'covering' more of the intercooler opening than my 2022MY OE plate as it was delivered by Granger (notice on mine the plate clips are on the top, plate screws on the bottom ?)

I'll offer that 2+ years in Texas heat with a fair amount of towing, I've not noticed any indications of untoward heating of anything, and the bracket is tight / quiet. Yep, gotta show a front plate in TX.

The thing is, it won't show up in terms of heat. In fact, blocking the intercooler will COOL the ENGINE. If the charge air is hotter, then less air and by extension less fuel is going into the combustion chamber, which generates less heat per combustion event. Therefore, it shows up as less power, which sounds like hasn't slowed you down at all. The nice thing about Texas is that we don't have many hills to pull stuff up.

These are all valid points, and I completely agree with you, it certainly isn't the best way to do things placing the plate in front of the opening. As @Kanuck also mentioned previous versions did not have the plate mounted in front of the lower opening. It does make me wonder why Ford has changed this, it doesn't seem right to me either. I honestly wish all states would change to a rear plate only and get rid of the front completely. I don't like the look but I don't want to get caught without out it

The reason that many states/provinces require a front plate (and in some cases tags on the front), is due to rear plate obstruction while towing or some other rear mounted carrier, which impedes plate visibility.

I had inquired on a bracket from BuiltRight for the 2024 Tremor, they will eventually make one for it, but not right now. So no idea on a time frame there.

I reached out to Swarfworks as well on a bracket as the one listed if for a round tow hook. The tow hooks are square on the truck. I haven't gotten a response from them.

Also, +1 on don't drill the plastic beside the intercooler inlet to mount the license plate. Some idiot that I know tried to do that and got a "autmotic cruise control not active message".....what a fool...

It took me a while to figure out that I'd been racially profiled . . .

Heading into the amusement park in Santa Clara (I'd call it "Marriot's", but that would date me . . .) without my wife, but with four daughters 7-14.

Metal detectors at the entrance, that sure weren't there when I was a kid.

Emptying my pockets of the two way radios (so the older girls could go by themselves while I stated with the 7 year olds) and whathaveyou took a couple of their trays.

I kind of gulped as a pair of pocketknives went in the multiple dishes it took--and they just handed the bowls back to me on the other side.

It wasn't until later that I realized: middle aged white guy, four daughters . . . "These aren't the droids you're looking for"


And having waited an hour in the backup the last year that traffic went over Boulder Dam before the bypass . . . this time with my wife as well, in a E-150 van packed waist deep in camping gear. One look, and I got waived through.

As for the front plates . . . just after I bought my '93 Cadillac Fleetwood at an auction, I went on a mustang run with it (I forget which thing the mustang had pulled *that* time that I couldn't bring it).

And, due to multiple folks with warped senses of humor, I ended up *leading* the pack (herd?) of mustangs (but able to sit far more comfortably than the rest).

A couple of odd sounds, intermittently, and then a scrape.

Turned out that the auction hadn't installed the front plate, with their name, properly (still waiting for my permanent registration to come back). And the license plate had gone under, entangled with something, and was scraping!

And for my '06 Miata GT, not fully understanding the law (in NV, front plates are only mandatory on vehicles equipped for them), I insisted that the dealer mount the front plate.

In the following several months, it found varying ways to detach, dangle, and generally make my life miserable, until I gave up (to my wife's surprise, given my vanity plates).

[postnote: the Miata will soon be shipped to Texas: transmission went at 40k, engine at 60k, and rebuilt engine at 70k. There's a shop that puts in low hours engines of the identical design by Ford, in a 2.5 which is "hardened" in way the Mazda 2.0 isn't]]
