Does anyone know if there is a license plate bracket for the front bumper which would screw the plate in from the top rather than the bottom? It looks like the factory bracket slides the plate into the top then screws the plate into the bottom. My license plate frames screw in the top and not the bottom.

I guess I could clip it in upside down. But this bracket and frame don’t line up properly. I may end up just going without a frame on the front.

Looks like it was installed upside-down.
Mine is just the opposite, with screws on top.

The back side of the bracket has a sticker with arrows saying "this side up", which would have the screws on the bottom. Maybe they installed the sticker upside down? If anyone can confirm, the whole bracket is just clips and should pop on/off very easy.

Yes. Front mount has 8 clips holding it in place. Needed a screwdriver to push out on the more central ones as they are pretty deep in. Mine has only two mounting points for the license plate on the bottom. The wider spaced bolts. No top mounting bolts holes.

I just went through the Agate Black picture thread. There were 9 pictures of front ends with a license plate bracket, 2 of them had it upside down with the holes on the top. I am keeping mine upside down. Unfortunately the bolts for the bracket I ordered were too small for the front bracket, but fit the rear perfectly, not sure why. So I'll need to paint those ugly silver screws black.

Regardless of where the arrows point, and whatever the manufacturer intended, I believe it's more logical to have the screws on top and the clips/tabs on the bottom. It's just easier to fasten the plates when you don't need to use one hand to hold it in place. ?‍♂

Right? What's the point of the slots when gravity would cause them to slide right out? Logic dictates that you would put the plate into the slots, then use those to hold up the plate while you put in the screws.

Installed my front license plate bracket today. FWIW the correct PN is ML3Z17A385BB for my KR without heater. I had a hard time ordering it as my VIN didn't come with one, but my friend bought a KR decorative plate as a gift so I felt compelled to mount it. I'm fairly certain this is the way it is meant to be mounted. Ordered some anti-theft bolts with covers and drilled out the top holes to mount it with all four screws. I believe the plate was purchased from the King Ranch catalog/website.

Are you worried that your tires will damage your garage floor?

Not really just keeps the epoxy floor cleaner. Here in AZ for some reason the tires always have black dust or black rubber on them. Maybe it's the lack of rain to clean the roads?
