That’s nicely fortuitous for me. Was actually wondering about that, as I hadn’t seen another one with that done.
Yeah my coworker bought a ‘23 that didn’t have it because of the chip shortage. No such luck for the rest of us.

My ‘23 STX has a line item on the sticker for “Auto Start-Stop Removal” with -$50 discount. There’s no button on the dash for it either. I bought it used so not sure how the initial transaction went, but it appears that at least some dealers will do it.
My former ‘22 had the ASS force deleted from the factory. Was a nice thing.

Just luck of the draw. I've seen a bunch of 22-23's like that and it is on every Powerboost since they do not need the button or module installed at all.

I see your point, disabling something that increases fuel mileage is probably not illegal, as cafe compliance is on a company wide basis, not per vehicle like emissions stuff.

100% sure the dealer won't make these changes even if you offered to pay them. You can disable the auto S/S with Forscan or get an eliminator interrupt that plugs into the switch harness to remember the last state the switch was in after key off. I installed them in my 2020 Ranger and my wife's 2024 Kia and they work amazingly well.

As for removing cylinder deactivation with Forscan, I don't believe there's a way to do that. You'd need to get a custom tune for the truck from Livernoise or another vendor that has one available for it.
You can't disable start/stop on the newer trucks with Forscan. 22 or 23 was the last year.

If it were "illegal" Whipple wouldnt do it. Its for EPA standards, mainly and probably solely. If you can get tunes to turn CD off, its not illegal.

Well, maybe whipple wouldn't do it, but getting tunes that do illegal stuff is certainly not unheard of. Google "bulletproofing" for diesel trucks. That's wholesale emissions device defeating, done partly through tuning. Nothing the slightest bit legal about that.

Whipple does do it.
Tuning diesel trucks to NOT meet EPA happens all the time, just so someone can "roll coal"....saw a Tuned Diesel Performance truck beside me before, my stock 392 Daytona left it rolling coal, but loosing LOL
