They have to hit their CAFE numbers.

As of last week I was told that the status of my order was "unscheduled - clear" , I think "clear" was the word they used it might have been clean or another adjective. Regardless, my order is for a RCSB with the 5.0 so I'm think "clear" , or whatever, suggests that the 5.0 is not a hold up.

As with all things Ford, just a guess.

Welcome to Ford, where production status is made up and your orders don't matter. I hope you get your truck ASAP! Unscheduled - Clean is a good sign. My understanding is that there are no constraints and they are just needing to schedule it for production.

I am most disappointed with Ford. In my opinion, they have really gone downhill in the past 2-3 years. The quality of the parts they are using seems to be substandard.(e.g. wiper motors, rear axle bolts) The resulting long waits for safety recall resolution have really turned me off. I thought their customer service was much better than this. The inavailability of some electronics (NAV and Sirius XM, Power extendable towing mirrors etc.) when I got my truck was totally unacceptable.

Perhaps Ford needs to identify its top two selling packages, engine, and options and regroup concentrating on building high quality and reliability on couple of standard models. These trucks are far too electronically complicated to prove nearly as reliable and as those made decades ago. Sometimes simpler is better and more reliable.

I've had my 3.5 EB for 2 years, and it has been recalled 3 times. I still await the completion of the axle bolt boondoggle.

One thing I really wish Ford had been required to do is to equip the front with a camera. It is extremely blind when pulling into a parking space.

If I had the ability to do this all over, I probably would not have bought an F-150.

I would think a premium fully loaded truck like a KR or Plat with the 5.0 and no anti-restart would be a real resale helper. And a 3.73 to boot. That is what I ordered and received 23/February. If something happens to this truck it would be impossible to get another like it. Things like the power running boards you can't order on the Lariat., so upsizing is not an option. Plus, the premium interiors look great. For this being my first Ford and first truck, I got lucky....

They seem to be pushing the PB option, so I would guess that is not the issue. I wonder what component(s) is scarce these days to create such a large backlog for them.
Last week I called Ford Marketing and they said I was still "unscheduled clean", but suggested I call my my dealer for more details. He told me I had shortages on HUD, CCD, Rear center step and lay flat seats... I'm really wondering if they can get all the parts together...

Ford obviously does not have the parts to build our trucks - otherwise they would...

Mine would have the Max Recline seats and HUD... Not sure what CCD is.

I was at a Ram dealership the other week and the one truck I test drove had been there for 271 days and the other one I looked at had been there for 290 days. 2024 Ram trucks aren't moving, let alone 2025. I'm surprised they haven't started discounting them heavily but only the Classics are getting good deals.

Ram has essentially a competitor to the 3.5 and the 3.3. They don't have a 5.0 for the V8 crowd or the decidedly unsexy (but heavyhitting) 2.7 for volume orders. We'll see if the Ramcharger gives the PowerBoost a fight.

Up here in Canada all I see on dealer lots are 2.7s with a few 3.5s here and there. Not a 5.0 in sight compared to last year.
In Nova Scotia I see quite a few 5.0’s. Up until deciding on a factory order the 5.0 was probably what I was going to have to take off the lots here.

Stellantis reported that Ram half ton sales are down 27% this week. Forcing the I-6 on people is backfiring on them pretty bad.
