I follow his channel and happen to have purchased his recommended High End Multiple Angles dash cam, the Viofo A229 Pro. I also purchased the hardwire kit for it, and will be connecting it to the fuse panel on the passenger's footwell so it's on all the time.
I found a post with dashcam wiring...
I'm definitely planning to get a separate set of wheel/tires for winter. My King Ranch came with 20" wheels, and I have confirmed that 18" wheels works fine for it (clears the calipers).
If the Platinum uses the same set of brakes, the 18" wheels should work for you as well.
Thank you for sharing your experience, @amschind. I will have to give the rear seats a try on the next short trip. At 5'10" I might just be able to manage sleeping there.
I have seen quite a few different setups for converting the rear seats area to a functional bed, and most of them seem to be...
Since posting this, and based on the feedback I received (in the general section), I ordered the King Ranch with the Max Recline seats and the 6.5' bed. I will have to agree that these seats are OK for a short snooze, but not adequate for a few nights sleep. This was the main reason for going...
The only issue with these is that you won't have power when you turn off the truck. I would like to be able to still record when the vehicle is parked outside overnight.
Hi everyone,
What is your experience with various Ford dealership service department in the Portland Metro area? I actually live in Vancouver, WA but I don't mind traveling a bit to get better service elsewhere.
This would be for regular maintenance, oil changes, potential accessory...
Congratulations, and thanks for the detailed write up.
I'm truly enjoying my '24 KR... now with just under 5K miles. If I had to do it all over again, the only modification to my order would be to add the tow mirrors.
I've already ordered/received the OBDLink EX, but have not made any...
Thanks for the link to the ratings. Wow, the rating on those Micheline X-Ice Snow is pretty high. So it would be between those and the Blizzak DM-V2's.
I live in the Portland/Vancouver area, on a hill and often travel to the coast throughout the year going over the mountain pass. It often gets more snow than in town and ices up during winter storms.
I'm convinced of Blizzaks' performance and will most likely put those on. I just have to...
Thank you all for the suggestions. I have used Blizzaks on my previous SUVs, so I think I will go with them for the truck as well.
Now the question is: Should I stay with the 20" wheels, or should I downsize to 18" wheels for winter tires?
My '24 KR with 157" wheelbase was equipped with the 20" Chrome-Like PVD wheels and Pirelli Scorpion ATR 275/60R20 tires from factory.
I live in the Pacific NW and regularly go over mountain passes during winter. I don't believe these wheels/tires would be sufficient for my purpose during winter...
I have a couple of updates...
I've tried a few different pairs of sunglasses and the HUD is clearly visible with most of them.
The Sync 4 Navigation and Apple Maps directions (via Car Play) are shown in the HUD. Waze and Google Maps are not!
I have a pair of Serengeti and a pair Bolle polarized sunglasses. The HUD display dims to the point of almost invisible when wearing these sunglasses. Neither of these sunglasses causes any issues for the NAV or the console screens.
I am going to try a few more brands/pairs to see if I can find...
