Hmm.. Oil housing is on the front driver side of the block. An oil drip on the bell housing is almost always from the backside of the engine. Maybe just some interesting aerodynamics going on.
First sub 30 degree day. Noticed that after almost an hour of driving my trans temp gauge (STX so its not exact temp) never got to its normal position. Usually its basically pointed 6 oclock but it didnt even get halfway to that. Is that normal?
I used to buy from Amoco because it was between work and home. Rough idles, shitty mpg, carbon deposits on top of pistons. Switched to Meijer and Costco exclusively. MPG is higher, idles like a tesla, and cleaner valves/pistons head.
So my 23 STX 5.0 was updated with 23-PU0813-DOR-UP2 this morning. Googling the code, people were getting this update in November/December of 2023. Why are my updates so far behind? My battery charge does not appear to be low.
I also believe there was some sort of ECU update as my cluster...
White Smoke = Coolant burning (Sometimes confused with condensation)
Blue Smoke = Oil Burning
Black Smoke = Fuel too rich
Cant tell from the video to much on mobile but it looks like blue smoke. I'd inspect your PCV valve first. If that looks fine then could be some sort of valve issue or...
Its not related to last time your vehicle is started. Its the last time it pulled data. If you dont anything to query it, like check your tire pressure or send a lock command. It will show updated to the current time.
My 2023 does that sometimes. Basically the cold truck starts at around 1200ish rpm then idles down to 700. If you take off and come to a stop shortly after, it basically does a delayed pull of the engine temp and idles down to 500 immediately.
This must have been a bug. My truck did the same thing yesterday. I filled up and drove about 60 miles. getting around 21 mpg. DTE was around 410. Started my truck up a few hours later and my fuel gauge dropped fast and my DTE dropped like 35 miles. I got out and looked under my truck to make...
2024 where we celebrate trucks that make it to 40k miles without issues lol. Tongue in cheek.
Glad you are happy with your truck. Ford is the best even with its problems here and there.
GM and Chrysler took a 11.2 billion dollar bailout from the government during the 08 meltdown and they promptly used that opportunity to move a lot of their manufacturing out of the US. I dont care how solid their vehicles are (They are mostly POS lol) but I will not support that business model.
Why would you need E rated tires when the load capacity of SL rated tires are higher than the axle weight rating?
E.G. I have 275/60r20 Mickey T Baja Bosses STD. Each tire has a load capacity of 2679lb @ 44psi. My Rear GAWR is 3800lb. Doesn't that mean I have almost 1600 pounds of leftover...
I have a 2023 5.0 w/ the 3.73 and NO Max Tow. Mine also does this. Dont think its an axle bolt issue. I was thinking it was something with the leaf springs but I havent cared enough yet to do a full diagnosis. Did you get your truck leveled or just did air bags in the rear? Mine is not half as...
We just got a 24 2.7 at work. Not only does it have a boost leak that is very audible, i feel like im driving my wife's 4runner. Very sluggish. Same with our 23 2.7.
Gotcha, thanks for the info.
Totally subjective, but we had a bit of a heat wave here and my transmission was shifting like crap during the 90s heat. it was high 60s this morning and she was shifting like butter. Temps looked normal during both times. Wonder if it's a factor.
