I was at my local dealer getting the wiper motor/park brake wire recall Monday
I always walk and look at inventory
I counted 30 new F150’s but not a 2.7 engine on lot
Salesman told me that Ford is not putting the 3.5 in 150’s in 2024.
I’d heard although the small 3.3 is one ofFords most reliable engines it has been dropped and now 2.7 EB is standard
I’ll bet he got his wires crossed
Thanks

Must have been the same salesman who told me that STX versions of F-150s are slightly smaller than the rest :ROFLMAO:
This person has no clue what they're talking about - 3.5 EB is definitely an option, PowerBoost is still the flagship engine option

2023 F-150 STX 5.0L V8
STX: 2.7 EB standard, 5.0 V8 optional and required for tow package

XLT: 2.7 EB standard, 5.0 V8 optional and required for tow package, 3.5 EB also optional and required for tow package

Lariat: 5.0 V8 standard, 3.5 EB optional (both available with tow package)

Tremor: 5.0 V8 standard, 3.5 EB optional (both available with tow package)

King Ranch: 3.5 EB standard

Platinum: 3.5 EB standard

XL is the oddball, allowing all engines, but the tow package (for some reason) requires the 3.5 EB on that trim and not any others.

That is odd. I wonder why they gate some combinations. Different plants doing different things? I have no idea how manufacturing works.

At least 20% of production will be PBs. It'd be nice if they took some of the common sense feedback on their approach and gave us a PHEV we couldn't turn down.
