Ford Pass V5.12.0 Climate Controls

The Mach-E rollout of this feature was a few weeks back. It was discovered that it required more than just having the necessary software in the vehicle, along with FordPass. It requires a server-side setting as well.

So you could have 2 identical trucks, 2 identical phones, and still 1 truck could have the new control render in FordPass, and the other trucks FordPass not render the control.
And then 1 hour/day/week later, the control is suddenly present.

Something else I noticed is it does hold last used settings in the app on subsequent remote starts. I've experienced what others have said about remote start from fob not kicking on seat/steering wheel heaters. I live in the Northern Sierras and this is quite annoying given I don't always have my phone on me. I did turn on and off remote start in the truck and toggled through all the settings again and it seems I was able to get HVAC to kick back on to warm the car from fob, where as at first after the update it was not. Seat/steering wheel heaters still aren't kicking on though from fob it seems though...

I now have the controls on my 2024 Lariat with using the app also. Like I have seen in previous replies it quit working using the fob a short time back.

Well I just used my app to start my “should be up to date 21” and up to date Apple app and no climate options so more to come maybe. Had the thought maybe you need premium connectivity activated?

Has anyone gotten climate controls in any of the gen 14s, any trim, with the newest version of ford pass (V5.12.0)? I have been seeing a bunch of people elsewhere stating that they updated ford pass and then got an OTA and now have climate controls in 21+ models. Applies to XLTs, Lariats, Raptors and others. I have updated my fordpass, but I guess have not been deemed worth enough for an OTA yet... Recently updated all my modules via FDRS within the past week, so I am unsure if a new module update came out or not or how that works.

the 24 I have just received this update last night but had the climate control before the update, so it may not be directly tied to it.

Sun 16 FEB ‘25, Ford Pass 5.12.0, 2024 STX, no climate buttons after remote start. But my climate buttons in truck are physical rotary knobs for fan speed and hot vs cold, not the fancy maintain the temp kind.

My fob remote start has never worked.

Just checking as others didn’t know this…I assume you are pressing the lock button before hitting the remote start x2 on your fob.

Thanks. I am now. Another thread clued me in. I much prefer using the fob over Ford Pass.

My Canadian 24 lariat has the climate settings in the app now, but now my heated seats and steering wheel won’t go on with the fob it appears. It also looks like vented seats won’t go on in summer, but that is speculation - should be auto climate and auto seats? ?

Interesting. I have also noticed with v5.12.0 that when I try to autostart with ford pass now, it says it fails. I can only do it if I lock the truck first and then try to start it. Before the update, I could just start from the app without having to actually lock it myself. I have always had to lock it to remote start from the key fob though.
