Before whipple 23+highway 19+ average. After whipple 17 city, haven't driven much highway with it since the whipple but on the short highway cruises I have done I think it will be about the same as stock.

30k on my 22 302- 3.73 rears 4wd sc 6.5 bed stock everything. The mpg is amazing. On local mostly flat 50/55 mph roads yeilds 24.5.
Drove from Maine to MD in May, 642m iirc and the dash said 127 miles to empty. (36g tank)
This was mostly at 80mph and a touch under 2000 rpm in the interstate.
I'm coming out of a '12 taco 4cyl. Down hill with a tailwind I might have hit 20mpg, that said ALL of my driving is in "eco" mode as that's plenty of "juice" comparatively speaking!
Being a "tightwad" I play games just seeing what I can push the mpg's to.
At the cheapest gas I can find, (18 miles from home) it's relatively flat and good traffic. I always reset the trip/mpg settings and can regularly see 26 but have seen 28 briefly.

this is one of those trips early on, I bought the truck @ 20k.
It's soooo nice to have that power available when you need it and this truck is our 400hp economy car!!!
All around mpg for me is 23.5-24.5.

2021 XLT Screw 5.0,4x4,302Asport,
I track every mile using Fuelly.

When towing my wheeling truck, 11-14 depending on speed weather conditions etc.
When not towing daily is 19-21. Interstate 22 is easy when the limit is 55 (like I follow that).
Best ever MPG was a single day run from Greenville SC to Boston. Two fill ups, one after 456 miles in Winchester VA, 24.0mpg. The second after 496 miles 25.8mpg. Truck was full of household stuff that wife needed.

Lots
I recently went to visit my family who live in a city of around 65,000. Lots of fairly long stretches of 35-50 mph as opposed to my tiny town that has very few roads like that. I got around 17 mpg in town. Not nearly as much stop and go as there is in my town. That is probably why I only get 12 mpg in town. I start my truck, have to hit a ton of stop signs just to get two miles to work.

At 6k miles on a stock 2021 XLT SC 6.5' 5.0, I averaged about 23MPG during a 200 mile trip this past weekend. Mix of 71-73mph interstate, and 45-65mph rural roads. AC on the whole time, and that included climbing up in elevation. I was pretty pleased with the mileage.

I get about 16 average. Most of my trips are short, I live a mile from work and don't often drive over about 3 1/2 miles.

I posted some of the highest I've ever seen, and I drive a lot more conservatively than I think a lot of people claim to.

The entire average speed of my almost 1900 mile trip was 60 mph. Total time vs mileage. But that includes 30 to 40 minutes of stop and go on the way back, pulling over for every rest stop, a little bit of around town driving etc. Speed limits on my route range from 55 to 70 mph on the highway. The trip was through the mountains via i-81 all the way to i-84, to the Mass Pike, to 495. There was local driving in the 30 to 45 mph range as well.

Not the fastest driver not the slowest. Two lane highway for most of that route and I drove in the right hand lane and passed the slower trucks and cars as needed. Sometimes going down the mountain passes I was pushing 80 miles an hour foot fully off the gas lol. Realistic speed was probably 65 to 72 mph across all of the highway driving.

When you drive a trip like that you get to really see how people drive. The amount of knuckleheads that would pull up and sit in my blind spot and then accelerate as I tried to pass them to get away from them was amazing. People are erratic, don't have steady inputs, and it costs them multiple miles per gallon especially if you watch the fuel economy gauge. Some really significant impacts to fuel mileage just by some slight adjustments in the pedal.

I've realized sometimes explaining fuel mileage makes you sound like a wiener, but to get a hand calculated 27 MPG in a V8 without being the biggest slowpoke definitely shows some of us just drive differently. No matter how higher than thou or snobbish that can sometimes come across the people. Most people I just don't think drive smooth enough or think about the impacts of driving well over 70 mph. I kept the truck in four cylinder mode so much that I was able to reap the benefits of borderline sedan-like fuel mileage.

honestly i thought it was normal too and wasn't expecting much more than what I'm already getting. Only got curious because of what I read in this thread. I only tow my heavy trailer once every month or two. Besides that, it's my daily driver, so the excellent MPG of some of these guys got me intrigued.
I’m one of the excellent mileage guys. It is a challenge I enjoy, so I work at it. I use high test gas. I take off slow and smooth. I coast when convenient.

I’ll see 21mpg on tanks when I stay around home and mostly below 70mph. When I go on trips, I drive 80-90mph with the traffic on interstates. I’ll see 19mp on those tanks.

I have never towed a trailer.

I’m sure I would get lower mpg if I drove more aggressively.

I hit 25 mpg over 100 mile trip with 90% highway with cruise at 72 mph in normal mode. Not bad for a 5.0 4x4 supercab I must say. I am usually around 19-20 MPG average driving mostly 35-45 mph roads with stop lights.

Hypermiling for the most part, but by really limiting their stops they get impressive avg speeds. They’re practicing Tai-Chi while everyone else is kick-boxing. It’s more about their driving patience and practices than their vehicle. You give them a F-350 Godzilla and they’ll get 19mpg out of it.

thanks for the little giggle. lol I figured I’m not as light footed as I think I am…… at least not compared to of these guys in here. I’d have to admit, it’s super hard to drive under 70 in California highways where everyone is going 80+.
