  1. 5.0L F-150 getting Ford Performance Calibration Tune

    Still nothing?
  2. F-150---- V8 Gas Mileage? What MPG Do You Get??

I recently went to visit my family who live in a city of around 65,000. Lots of fairly long stretches of 35-50 mph as opposed to my tiny town that has very few roads like that. I got around 17 mpg in town. Not nearly as much stop and go as there is in my town. That is probably why I only get 12...
  3. F-150---- V8 Gas Mileage? What MPG Do You Get??

What is break-in as far as settling in with MPG? I saw TFL truck did a test with a Ford Maverick (hybrid) and it was brand new and only getting 29 mpg when it was rated around 40 mpg. Ford saw the video and reached out to TFL and said do the test again after 5,000 miles. They did and the MPG was...
  4. F-150---- V8 Gas Mileage? What MPG Do You Get??

I drove from Steamboat Colorado to Laramie, Wyoming a couple of weeks ago. The entire journey is state highway with 65 mph speed limits. I got 22 mpg for the entire journey which was impressive. Conditions were totally ideal though. Cool weather, no wind, relatively low cruising speed etc...
  5. F-150---- V8 Gas Mileage? What MPG Do You Get??

That MPG doesn't sound too off if it is a mix of city/highway. Around town I get 11 mpg and high (depending on speed, wind, weather) between 18-22. 4x4 3.73 gears with topper and racks on topper.
  6. F-150---- V8 Gas Mileage? What MPG Do You Get??

Not sure how so many of you are getting that good of MPG. Maybe it's because I live in a small town and my drives are often short and in stop and go traffic (and cold in the winter). I am at about 7,000 miles on my 5.0 (2024 4x4) and my lifetime average is about 15.6 mpg. Around town I get...
  7. Pedal Monster is a savior

Definitely the safer option since it has built-in fail safes.
  8. Pedal Monster is a savior

I just used zip ties and tucked it under the dash. Plenty of brackets and things to connect it to under there. The cable they give is is unnecessarily long so I folded it up and zip-tied it together.
  9. Aftermarket regearing? 3.31 to 3.73

I am not sure what program they used exactly but I think they sub-contracted with a local diesel shop. Might have been Forescan, I don't know. All I know is the speedometer/odometer, trans shift points, ABA/traction control and torque converter lock up are all affected by the gearing change and...
  10. Aftermarket regearing? 3.31 to 3.73

I had my '24 re-geared from 3.31 to 3.73 (I am OP). They did have to reach out to another shop to have it flashed after the hardware work was done. No issues with the truck after the work was done.
  11. Water puddle from exhaust

Yes, I know. Water is a biproduct of combustion. However I have never had a vehicle that leaked water from anywhere other than the exhaust pipe outlet itself. My 2024 leaves a big old puddle if I idle the car more than 1 min in my driveway. Coming from 2 or 3 different spots along the exhaust...
  12. F-150---- V8 Gas Mileage? What MPG Do You Get??

Dang, I am only getting like 12 mpg in the city. I do live in a small town though. I let it warm up a bit so my kids don't have to set in an icebox in the morning. My trip to work is 2 miles with lots of stops. On the highway I seem to be getting around 18 mpg. 2024, re-geared from 3.31 to 3.73
  13. 3.31 vs 3.73 Highway MPG Difference

Yeah, the rated 24 mpg these things have on the sticker is crazy. I am getting around 18 or so on the highway. Since I regeared I lost 1 or 2 highway MPG. In town I am now getting around 13 mpg. I live in a small town so I idle a fair bit and my trips are short with lots of stop and go, so 13...
  14. 3.31 vs 3.73 Highway MPG Difference

Another day of driving and nearing the end of break-in period. As you might imagine, I get more pull at lower RPM but it falls off at higher RPM where the 3.31 pulled better. Noticing less jerky shifting and better overall shifting too. Hopped on the interstate last night for about 8 miles. I...
  15. 3.31 vs 3.73 Highway MPG Difference

What gears do you have? My old 2013 Tacoma never really got above 18 mpg so having all this power and getting 20+ mpg has been really nice.
  16. 3.31 vs 3.73 Highway MPG Difference

Hoping that is the case for me too. With it being -10 deg F outside, you gotta idle your truck to warm it up, MPG is shit. So I can't really get a good idea on MPG until it warms up. I suspect a small highway drop in MPG though.
  17. 3.31 vs 3.73 Highway MPG Difference

Got my truck back. Running and driving well. Definitely more pull at low RPM but I am trying to take it easy for the first hundred miles while the gears settle in. Can't really hop in the highway yet either. As soon as I got my truck back we got hit with negative degree temps and the roads are...
  18. 3.31 vs 3.73 Highway MPG Difference

Yep - 3.73. Might eventually level and get a slightly bigger tire. Nothing crazy though.
  19. 3.31 vs 3.73 Highway MPG Difference

I am getting re-geared today. Was kind of interested in doing this for a while. Truck is at the shop. Yes, it was a pretty penny but I had the pennies. I will post back after I get the truck back. Luckily there was a Ford dealer here in Denver willing to do it and not void my powertrain warranty.
  20. Pedal Monster is a savior

I really haven't done any scientific testing but it's pretty much the same. To get up to speed stock you gotta go deep into the throttle but with Pedal Monster you barely apply pressure and it more or less comes out the same. The instant throttle response does make giving it the beans a lot of...
