Gm is sitting on hundreds of ev trucks,I agree. I was reading the comments and the amount of people saying they will look at other companies is crazy. I think it’ll even out between people who go somewhere else for full electric and people who convert from ICE to EREV.
It’ll open doors to a lot of businesses and also people who rent/live in an apartments.
By the release...maybe late my 26?So when is the EREV version supposed to be available?
Me being a technician I really like this idea as it gives me more work cause I’ll actually something to fix.Gm is sitting on hundreds of ev trucks,
Not moving and then put out the all ev Explorer looking suv at 93k dollars
Yup run right out and buy
This f150 move is dammmm what we have been talking about here for years
2 frames a half ton
And 1 ton
Close the door on other guys
I could give up my 6.7 superduty if its a winner.
Not to bash the ev folks
But some.....are ev or nothing world is flat types
Others are...swirl...combination of an ev
But with an ice vehicle as well
Said it alot an EV would do 90% of our tasks....but
I still need/want a truck that can run 500 to 700 miles, fill up in 20 minutes and go
And drag around 8k lbs or more
Farley says Going forward, the full-size F-150 will be offered with three options under the hood: a gas-only engine, a mild hybrid, and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) that runs on electricity but uses an onboard gas generator on long trips.I would not be surprised if the sun sets on the PB too. This is really what most PB owners would have preferred. The ability to get at least 100+ miles of electric driving from plug in would probably cover most peoples daily driving.
I don't think prices have been mentioned, but my guess is $80k and up. Nobody knows though at the moment, probably not even Ford. LOL.Very intrigued…. But….
1) $ How much we talking here? This is really the big one
2) Are we still using the 10 Speed? Cuz that is honestly, by far, the biggest gripe on my PowerBoost. If they are, they MUST improve its function and smoothness.
3) Can we please get 4A on lower trim levels? I don’t think I realized how much having to switch on/off 4H in the snow and then dry really stinks. Not so much a EREV thing but RAM offers it on lower trim levels and between this feature and the automatic transmission RAM looks much better to me today than they did when buying the Powerboost in 2023.
Overall very torn on this one. I think the idea is great and interested based on that. But I’m guessing expensive and I’m sorta on the fence that actually going back to “KISS” might seem more appealing to me now. Just give me a decent vehicle and engine and trans that just works and if it needs repair isn’t the death of my wallet.
i drive mine until they are scrap weight value..lolBonus!
Except PowerBoost resales may tank as well.
Oh well, perhaps we keep the PB too!
With this truck there is no ‘transmission’ and it is all time all wheel drive. So there won’t be a 4A or 4H option. It still has drive modes which most likely has to do with throttle response amongst other things.Very intrigued…. But….

Why not use their smallest engine? A 1.0l model from Europe perhaps? It’s only to generate power for the battery and doesn’t drive the wheels.I wonder what engine they will use as a generator. Maybe they will develop their own type of generator that may be better on fuel. I think this is a great idea. Beating ram to this release. Hopefully it’s a step forward and quality will come first. They should bring back the 3.3 and use that as a generator. Ram was going to use their pentastar 3.6 which gets pretty solid fuel economy for its size.
