Where do you keep the little emergency key? I put mine in my wallet -- is there a better place?

Can always get one of those magnetic key cases and attach to frame somewhere.

Alternative, if the fob battery goes out completely - either press (hold the fob and use it not your finger) the start button with the fob, OR place the fob in the slot under one of the cup holders (remove the rubber protector to find the slot). Obviously, this is not needed w/ key start models ...

I hide mine under a big rock on our front patio, along with an extra house key, nobody will ever look there.

Even if you are able to get into the truck, you will not be able to start it if you have somehow lost your key or fob.

Maybe, if you are sure that you can get into the truck, you could hide a spare key somewhere inside of the cab or under the hood.

I think this will work if you have a key start

I’m not familiar with how fobs work so don’t know if you can hide a fob in the truck. The truck may sense it and not allow you to lock the doors.

If you do have a fob and you can’t lock the doors with the fob inside, maybe you can wrap it in foil or put it in a metal box or even remove the battery and store it separately before hiding it to prevent the truck from seeing it and refusing to lock the doors.

Door code to get in. Hidden fob in the truck with battery removed. Will only start the truck if the fob is found and IF the fob is placed in the correct dead battery starting position (in cupholder).
