Telemetry Fuse location?

Hello,

I am trying to disable or remove the Telematics Control Unit (TCU). Is there just a simple fuse I can pull on my 2022 F150 XLT or do I need to go behind the rear seat and just unplug it?

I followed the instructions in the link below to disable the modem in my 2024. Simply remove the fuse and all GPS / server communication stops.

Note that the specific TCU fuse number in the BCM may vary based on model year, trim, etc.

FWIW (and no, I have not tested this) the Workshop Manual for my 2022 F150 shows BCM fuse #8 (5amp) for the TCU. That's shown to be a 3-leg fuse shared with circuit #9 for the Intrusion Sensor.

Be aware that the Ford navigation will no longer function. It will only show the last known location of the vehicle when you pull the fuse. This isn't an issue if you use Android Auto or Apple Car Play.

It barely functions even when it’s working as intended.

I can’t imagine mine is any different from yours. It’s hard to take it seriously when it tries to get me to turn on to roads that were closed off in 1917 when the nearby military base was incorporated

I believe the fuse is a 3-leg fuse that powers #8 and #9 circuits. If I remember correctly, I replaced the fuse with a normal dual leg fuse, cutting out one of the circuits.

It's been a while since I did this mod, and today I opened the fuse box to reconnect the fuse to update the truck. The fuse location is in the lower right passenger side by the door hinge. Once you pull the panel off, you will see the small fuse box. The fuse you are looking for is the number 8, it's a mini 7.5 fuse.
