I feel nervous celebrating before the tcu update procedure happens but the apim is updated. First try after running the pmi and disconnecting the battery for 25 mi.

Running tcu update now. Didn’t I read that I need to open and shut the door and wait 30 minutes for this one?

I just always leave the door open and everything works fine. Some updates have a time that they want you to wait for the modules to sleep before continuing by leaving the door open if I remember right.

This whole process has worked every way other than fine up to this point haha. I’ve been messing with this for 2 days and finally got the apim update to take after many failed attempts. This update (tcu) says to wait 10 minutes but I don’t think that’s long enough for everything to shut down especially when everything isn’t working properly due to the flawed software my truck has been running on.

10 minutes is more than enough.

Glad to see you over here on this forum for anything FDRS related. You are in good hands. :)

And don't get discouraged with the early hiccups you have dealt with. It's the nature of the 2021 software era beast. Once you get your truck past the current stage, you'll get more traction and make good progress.

Just takes some tenacity.
(Which is exactly what your dealership was short of)

I likely wouldn’t have attempted this had it not been for your kindness initially. Thanks!

I just wanted you to have the opportunity for you to experience your truck as a much better truck. It's always disappointing to see a 2021 Gen14 getting judged by the unfinished state it was delivered as by Ford. On the other hand, it's the truck with the biggest upside, for the same reason. :)

Long time without updates so I'm behind. GWM was not available forever then never bothered to come OTA. Gonna be a long day. Last FDRS session was July 2024. :)

GWM then into APIM because those are always annoying. Knock out the short ones before the IPMA fun. I think there might be a CAN IPC in the list too gotta see the updates.

I did see a code for blend motor. Replacing that was fun on my 2011. Far as I know it is working though. 🤔

My truck never gets OTA updates either anymore. I know there are some pending ones that should show up eventually.

I had that HVAC code also and the dealer replaced the blend door motor.

Gonna be a long dealer visit with 2.7 recall, rear wiring recall (it's fine), and throw in a blend motor to put that ESP to work.

Not sure. We've lost a few of the gurus on here......some more recent than others. For the most part, we'll just have to figure shit out on our own going forward.
