I got the GWM updated(didn't take too long) now there is an update for the TCU, is that a long one?
GWM, TCU, APIM and sometimes IPC will show up one after another once one of those is done. Keep going until no more pop up.

After seeing SSM 52730 i ignored the fault code and updated the GWM again and now there is an update for the APIM
Yes, you can ignore the U211B on the TCU, per that SSM 52730. It has to do with TRON. Read about the SSM and TRON here by going forward and back about 6-8 posts on either side of this one:

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...g-guide-using-fdrs.8249/page-1020#post-607685

You can leave it alone or if that will bother you, you can try to clear it by running TRON in the GWM, but it will likely turn a bunch of modules Orange and you’ll have to run self test to turn them green as I did here:

Yup. You should be close to being done at this point.

Is this APIM update really going to take multiple hours like it says. It jumps from like 3 hours to 6 hours and back and forth.

The problem is that downloading files from Ford can be very slow. It has nothing to do with your internet speeds. APIM is like 6 gigs, so yea...... it can take a bit.

Yeah, if you hit a time where there's more than about 10 people trying to download something from Ford servers it can take forever. Even at the fastest speeds they support it takes forever.

Now I had already done a 5 gig APIM update that only took like 30 minutes, then a new TCU update showed up. After doing the TCU update this new APIM update showed up which show that many hours. Does that mean it's likely way more than 5 gigs if the first APIM update only took about 30 minutes?

The APIM you’re working on now should take you to the latest SYNC as of now for a ‘24 F150: SYNC 25094, Rev 1779. I updated it to my ‘24 a few weeks ago in about a half hour or so. It isn’t any bigger than the previous, give or take. It’s just mainly the Ford server connection throughput download times like stated above.

PS: The Sync version is basically a date code, so 25094 was issued on the 94th day of 2025, or ~ early April.

I could use some help I just bought a 2021 lariat this last week and it has the issue with no sync revision listed and not allowing any OTA updates. I was going to do the manual update using the method stated at the beginning of the thread but then saw that Ford is no longer allowing updates to the APIM? Does this mean I am now SOL. Any thoughts or suggestions or woould be greatly appreciated. If you need my vin to help please let me know.

Message me the VIN. Ford is not releasing the newer APIM version for certain vehicles, but if your truck is stuck on one of the old Sync version, you will still be able to fix that. You may not be able to update all the way up to the most current version, but you can update it.
