ECU module programming guide using FDRS

did the network test and getting this login error. password is good etc. if I type a wrong password it fails on the login screen and does not come back to the main screen

I did fire up my old laptop. It still had FDRS 34.5.2 running on it. but when I typed in my new lic it displayed that lic is already installed on another PC. The one I am getting the login error on. So understand this. just trying some work arounds.


Another update. I removed the lic from the new laptop and added it to the old laptop running 34.5.2. Still fails. dont even get to the FORD login page . Fails and reads cannot contact server. removed lic from the laptop and its back in newer laptop. Still same error as below.

Try logging into motorcraftservice.com or fordserviceinfo.com and see if you have the same problem. If not, then retry FDRS using the same credentials.

Sometimes, it just takes a while to log in if you just bought the license. I have seen it happen countless times on this thread where someone has issues logging in and then a little while later, they report they got in and didn't do anything special.

You can also call support now while they are open.

yes.. I am able to log into both of these .

I promise I'm not an idiot and I know what I'm doing. I for sure know my password and know I entered it correctly. Sometimes it will block me out like it is doing you for hours, and then magically start working. My only advice is to try once an hour.

ok thanks. The lic is showing active until 5/11 . I did try and goto version 37.4.7 and still get login error. I'll go back to 44.4.4 and give it some time.

If you can log into both of these sites with no problem and FDRS is still not letting you in my bet is on what the diagnostic was initially telling you—license server issue. Probably nothing you can do but wait. Sometimes logging into motorcraftservice.com will prompt you to agree to a license agreement, essentially refreshing your creds, which then allows you to log into FDRS. Evidently, this was not your issue.

update!! I am in. not sure iif jsut timing like Rugedraw mentioned. or maybe uppdating from 37 back to 44.....

Unfortunately, nobody is going to be able to help you with this. Not anymore. Ford recently changed something in FDRS and if anyone from the US runs a VIN from a vehicle in Europe, the UAE or any other region, our accounts get banned.

Sounds like Ford has decided to step up enforcement of its user eligibility provisions. This is the one—found in the “terms“ link at the bottom of the motorcraftservice.com site— that always concerned me:

United States: This Site is directed at individuals in the United States ages 18 and older only, and our products are for sale only to purchasers in the United States, subject to the Canadian provisions set forth below.

Yea, @Mike G found something similar when it first happened to him. I lost certain privileges in PTS as of a few days ago, so I think the crack-down is en route and coming hard. I can no longer see pending updates or vehicle history.

I also have a 2017 ford explorer. Is it worth plugging in and checking for updates?
Well... we also have a 2015 Focus ST and a 2018 Fusion.. LOL ford family. and I am a chevy guy. but I do love the Fords!!

The 2015 is probably not supported by FDRS....I think that one used IDS. It's a different license. I am not 100% if the other two are supported by FDRS or IDS, but once you're done with the truck, plug into them to see what happens. I would update everything I can while the license is active.

I'm not exactly sure what model year FDRS became the go to over IDS. But isn't it primarily for vehicles with the FNV architecture?

I think it was 2018 or 2019 at the earliest for FDRS, even then it was limited to APIM updates only.
