I just updated my Job 1 2021 to sync version 24127 revision 1270, it was previously 23291 version 1049. I noticed that there are a few other updates that are available for my truck, and I was wondering if any of them are specifically worthwhile or worth avoiding.

From my experience, the IPMA update triggered several updates at the same time and took several hours. Just so you know.

I did the rest and they were all pretty quick.

The BCM you can’t do as it requires a special login that we don’t have.

I’ve read that after doing door module updates that you may need to reset the auto up/down for your windows but I didn’t have that experience. Mine just kept working.

Being a 21 truck...I would do them all. But that is me wanting the latest. I did the PDM DDM with no issues after. BCM you can't do...you have the license. Why not?

I had almost the identical list for my 21 J1 truck two weeks ago, I installed all of them, I've had no issues with any of these updates. As mentioned you will not be able to do the bcm update. And the ipma will be a multi module update and also update the PSCM on completion of the ipma. This will take 2 to 3 hours. Worth it in my opinion.

^^what these two above said.

You could try the BCM, as older versions didn’t require the dealer security login, but the latest one does. As far as any of them being worthwhile, it depends on if you are having any issues. I don’t think any of them should necessarily be avoided either. I’m assuming you have a 2 day subscription that runs out today or tomorrow, so it’s up to you to spend the day getting everything completely updated or not. I certainly would and I did most of those updates you show a few weeks ago without issue..

IPMA and PSCM are linked and take about three hours every time. These are usually refinements to blue cruise which is also useful on trucks like mine with only adaptive cruise. Same software just no hands free for me. I am a huge fan of the update I installed last year that makes it function properly. I waited forever and it never dropped OTA for me so forced it.

I just updated a bunch of modules on my 2021, APIM included. Latest sync version now is 23291 rev 1049 for me, no other updates are showing up. I wonder why i'm not getting the new version available...would be nice to knock it out while I still have a license. I seemed to have gotten the startup chime to play through the speakers now instead of the gauge cluster so that's nice (so far, at least).

I have noticed my lane centering is completely out of whack now. It ping-pongs back and forth and sometimes straight up ignores the line. Noticeably worse than it was before. I tried calibrating the front camera through FDRS but no change there. Only thing odd I can see from FDRS is my PSCM is not communicating with the IPMA, not sure if this is related or not. I still have power steering function. Anything i'm missing here?

Separate topic: just an FYI for anyone else looking for this in the future. If you are trying to update modules with your seemingly correctly formatted USB and you get an error that says "charge only USB device" try changing the partition scheme on your USB to MBR, his worked for me. I only found this from some older SYNC/USB related posts. If you're on Win11 you need to use diskpart for this. You can find tons of guides on how to do this by Googling "diskpart convert mbr."

Ford has not released the latest APIM update for all vehicles yet. There is nothing you can do about that.....eventually a GWM will pop for you and once done, that will release the final APIM and TCU updates you need to be fully updated.

Try doing this one with FDRS:

Ford F-150 ECU module programming guide using FDRS 1745792915881-jg

Also, keep in mind the new IPMA software requires the seatbelt to be on for lane centering to work.

Who was driving from passenger seat to cause need to add that? ?

I wear mine anyway but I know many choose not to do so.

What version of FDRS was the security check and new login needed for updating the BCM added? Has anyone tried going back to older versions of FDRS to see if the BCM could be updated without the new security check?

The new login requirement for the BCM did not coincide with a new FDRS release. The BCM update itself came with a new login requirement with the first BCM release in 2024.
