Ha, that 21 of the 21146 is the year the software was written. You still have some catching up to do

The slowest part of the APIM updates is transferring the files to my shitty USB drive. @rugedraw what's the fastest known working USB drive that these trucks will work with?

Not sure. I know @Mike G has a USB C SSD he uses, but he's on vacation now. Not sure when he'll be able to chime in. I use a regular Samsung one that I think you had problems with a while back.

Yeah, I've got nearly a dozen samsungs and not a single one works ?‍♂
Just have a cheap chinese 8GB that's been getting me by but it's so painful to use. My NVME USB-C cases doing 10Gbs have got me spoiled at just over 1GB/s. Wish they'd work!

Discussion on the Lightning Thread Mike G is a part of. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/...software-updates-using-fdrs.11029/post-484574

Mikes update about a USB stick here, but there is a new TSB out with some data in it and it actually says a Gen 2 is usable. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/...software-updates-using-fdrs.11029/post-478771

The USB drive isn’t the problem. FDRS does a CRC check on every bit it writes. I can copy the exact same files from the hidden folder to the same thumb drive in under two minutes using windows explorer. I went nuts one weekend trying to speed up writing to the USB drives.

Exactly!
And it (FDRS) is also overly sensitive to internet lag/latency during that CRC check as well.
While the "expected file size" (in bits) is known BEFORE the file begins to be downloaded, FDRS will perform its "actual file size" check against the downloaded file BEFORE windows-Explorer has completed the final write and calculation. And so if FDRS checks file size even 1 Bit early? Expected vs Actual does not match! And FDRS halts the update with an error that doesn't even hint at what the problem actually is. (FDRS also deletes the file)
The FDRS log file DOES indicate the issue though, and thus you can address your solution.

@Snakebitten ran into this last weekend, but the member would not listen and had issues with IPMA/PSCM update.

I don't blame anyone for "not listening" to that crazy old man. I know his kids, and they don't listen to him either. ??
Hell...I don't listen to me...:teehee:
