Hi All.

I have a Job 1 '21 F150 and have had all sorts of issues with getting my truck up to date. I had sync version 20262 and after a lot of back and forth and many months at the dealership they replaced the GWM and APIM. The truck was returned to me with version 21146. I thought it was over the hump, but I'm not convinced of that anymore. It has been 6 months since it was at the dealer and there have not been any OTA updates. Which brings me to today.

I'm working through updates with FDRS, I have done a number of them (GWM, IPMA, ACM, PSCM, window modules, trailer module), but there is not any updates for the APIM. Any ideas on why FDRS is not showing or making the updates available to me for the APIM? There is a BCM update, but from what I have read in this forum that is a dealer only update. Do I have to get that done to get presented additional updates?

Images - main FDRS screen after the connection. Current list of available software updates. Sync version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I would message @Jesse-Infotainment with your VIN, the message above and the occur picture of your about sync screen you posted above. I'm not sure there are many people that can help you with this aside from him.

Have you tried the BCM yet? That might not be the update that is locked. Clear out everything on your list and shut it down, take the truck for a drive, let it sit till tomorrow, then scan it again.

Edit: rugedraw got here just before me. If he thinks Jessie needs to get involved, I'd go with that.

If you are that far behind, it's doubtful the BCM update you see available is the one that requires credentials to install. Besides, you'll know as soon as you choose it and it does or doesn't prompt you to enter credentials.

Do the updates available. Then shut down FDRS and drive the truck to the store and back or something. A couple of key cycles at least.

Start a new FDRS session and get a fresh scan. Address any DTCs associated with orange modules. Then rescan again. See if the Motorcraft servers flag some additional updates for the truck or not.

I have completed the PSCM and ACM, but they won't disappear from the list. The BCM update is locked. I attempted to complete that.

The BCM update prompts for a login as soon as I try it. I did drive the truck around for a bit, but I can certainly try that again.

That's fine. Don't worry about that. They're done.

The ACM and PSCM are ones that are known to not go away after they've updated so that is “normal”.

Ignore what I said because I made BIG assumptions based on your Sync version being 21146

I assumed if you were at that era of Sync, you'd be at that era of every other update available.

I would have never guessed the BCM update showing for your truck would be the current version that many of us more-current users have. (requiring credentials)

Or maybe I'm even misunderstanding that too and Ford has put that credential requirement on any/all BCM updates?

Something interesting occurred when I updated to the latest IPMA and PSCM.

I have a 23 PB Plat with a ‘21 IPMA (for APA). I think I had APA going at one time but some of changes didn’t sync to Ford by the next update so it wiped it out and I didn’t want to have to do the camera alignment etc. all over again. I believe the PCSM changes did upload to Ford but the IPMA values that if changed require realign did not stick. So I left it be.

Fast forward to latest update and it seems part of the update flipped those values on needed for APA. I clicked the button and to my surprise the UI came up and I was able to test it (it worked). So no need to do all that work…

Hello everyone
I upgraded my truck for the second time yesterday. Now the version is 22087. But there were no more new versions yesterday. I don't know if I'll be able to connect to the truck today to check

Yesterday, GWM updated several times, but it does not disappear and also offers to install it. Install as many times as it will appear? And when it disappears, only then will the next updates appear?

Well, it's saying do the APIM which hasn't appeared. In a case like that (it's happened to me) I then do any other updates that can possibly be done. Then quit and restart FDRS which gets you a fresh network scan. Hopefully an APIM update shows eventually ?‍♂

Run a PMI on teh Gateway.. Ill look at your vin.. but the new version of FDRS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesnt submit data the same anymore. That is why a lot of updates remain.

PMI forces a submission of data.

If it still doesnt let me know.
