This is one of our shop trucks. 22 xl 2.7. . Had around 10 updates needed and everything was all good till the bcm update…

I watched this YouTube on manual update and at some point he connected directly to a plug behind a panel in the center console. It also appears in the TSB. I did not see any indication about that here. Is this necessary?

This only applies to job one trucks stuck on Sync 20262/20301.

Yes, based on that Sync version, you do not need to follow TSB 22-2404.

I'm pretty sure I checked your truck before, but I don't remember for sure. Did a dealer ever swap out your APIM, or do you still have the original APIM in your truck?

Yes, you did.
No APIM swap AFAIK and I am on the list for the cable :giggle: , so hopefully there will not be a need for a replacement. Do you think there is a reason to replace it?.

When I asked the dealer to do the updates, the senior tech. told the apprentice (in the vehicle) "there are no updates but I am going to write down that I updated, otherwise I won't get paid" (according to my dashcam ?).

No, I asked because if a dealer did replace it, there may be some underlying issues that may need to be address, but if has not been touched, the update process should be straight forward.

I see. AFAIK it was not replaced.
I just try to read and watch as many videos as possible before I get my hand on the "goods" so I'll have as clearer theoretical picture in my head as possible on the process.
And I understand, no worries, not in a rush at all. Thank you!

If you have a tune you’ll need to get a modification done to it since it’ll change the strategy code. For me the strategy change from MGL to MGM and Livernois is still working on having that new strategy applied to their tunes. This is why I still have the PCM still in my update list.
Did Livernois finish updating to the latest strategy?

I keep emailing them like once a month to get an update but never hear back. I sent them the stock -MGM Strategy/tune file back in Dec. I will give them a call to see what’s up. I imagine more and more people will run into issues as trucks get the PCM update OTA.
