I can tell you all that I've been running BC1.3 on my truck since Christmas and it's a massive improvement in stability over 1.2 so 1.4 should be so much better.

I will be installing 1.4 on my truck this evening
I would ask how you are doing it, but you're a wizard with software so there's no telling :p

Wait BC 1.3 is available on the 2021s? I must have missed that over the holidays?

Yea, I have BC 1.3 on mine, too, but I have not been able to test it out much due to my short commute. The overall drive seems much better, but the predictive speed seems to need some work.

Edit: He drove the truck and feels like BC works better, but there are no additional features in the touchscreen to turn on lane change assist or predictive speed. It looks like there may be an APIM update that will follow up the IPMA/PSCM updates that will be the final piece of the puzzle in terms of activating BC 1.4.

Edit#2: He said it did add "distance indication" and a toggle switch for it in the touchscreen.
There are settings in the APIM to enable those settings along with in the IPMA as well. Did he play around and enable those? I had lane change assist showing up in my cruise control menu when I enabled it a while back, but of course the button was dead for me and wouldn't do anything, just said feature unavailable, most likely since I don't have BC.

Done! Holy moly that is the usual long IPMA update two hours and four minutes for the IPMA, PSCM only took three minutes.

TeamViewer for the win to stay inside. Protip, if doing at night, aim your headlights towards inside so when you start seeing them flash you know it's about done ?

Will test drive tomorrow and see how it acts with lane centering and everything else. Hopefully like @rugedraw also wishes, predictive speed assist is better this go around.

He did the APIM changes. Predictive speed toggled on, but lane change assist would not toggle on. Also, he said that when he tries to toggle on "in lane repositioning", it would give an error that says "This setting is not available at this time. Please try again later". He did not do the IPMA changes as it was assumed that it would be activated on that end already.

The update actually writes all zeros in the IPMA where the Lane Bias and Lane Change settings are. So he will have to go in the IPMA and make changes.

That's what I always got as well so sounds like needs the IPMA changes as well. Some of the IPMA ones I changed a while back just messing around to enable it even zeroed themselves out now with the updates so had to enable them again. Weird thing now was, when I enabled smart offerings/BC in the APIM to get the additional menu options, they would never show up like they would before for me, even after a few hard resets, so not sure what's up with that, but I'll give it the night and see if it comes around tomorrow.

What type of J2534 device did you use?

I used a wireless VCM3 and mine went thru in under 45 minutes for the IPMA module.

Mongoose, I was about to mention that when I saw yours did it that fast as the VCM must have a leg up in this area, which it should since it costs quite a bit more. Majority of us here are in the Mongoose gang so I would imagine it will take that long for others as well.

I've used one of those before (outside of and away from work) I would say it's speed is pretty comparable to a VCM2.

I am spoiled by having 2 VCM3s and 2 custom-built programming laptops as I do the majority of all the module programming and electrical diagnosis (one VCM is my personal one, the other is owned by the dealer I work for)

I use the VCM 3 over ethernet. Ideal way to do it. Crazy fast. Plus my computer can sit on my desk inside.

EDIT - Forscan will work with the VCM 3 over ethernet as well.
