ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Ford is doing a lot of stuff with credentials right now: making you use an email instead of a username, more complex passwords, consolidating credentials across sites, etc. Go to motorcraftservice.com and try to log in there. If it makes you change your credentials, do it. Once you have new credentials, try FDRS again.

I had to update my password and confirm my e-mail.

I have updated the PCM, SOBDMC, CMR, DDM and PDM. Then tried the APIM again. Not sure if this is a known issue or if not, I will attempt the Ethernet way..

Of course the ford servers seems to be down. I can't even get to the site to register an account right now. Anyone else confirm this?

Got it to go via USB. Tried the Can-bus option and it got to 6% at the 3 or so hour mark. Laptop battery had issues and laptop shut off. Got it working again and was worried there would be some type of corruption. Tried the update again and it downloaded to USB no issue. 3Gb.

I was finally able to register and can now login on the website. However, FDRS won’t pull up the login page, says cannot reach FDRS servers.

I ran the network diagnostics and everything passes. Even tried tethering my phone to rule out a wifi issue.

Edit: Went back to version 34 and it’s working.

A new steering column control module (SCCM) update dropped onto FDRS overnight. For those not using FDRS, expect to receive it OTA as Power Up 6.5.0. It’s supposed to improve the function of the auto wipers and reduce power draw.

SCCM is not where I would have expected rain sensing wiper logic to live. I guess the BCM was full.

BCM is the one module I'll likely never update again. Bricked my truck the last time I did.

Ditto. The way Ford crammed oddball functions into seemingly unrelated modules is confusing.

Does this mean auto wipers have been causing battery drain issues? Just had notification on FordPass about my battery.

Just got (and installed) SCCM *and* a TCU update for my 2021 Powerboost.

SCCM was one of the files for 1.3 migration on MME, still quite a few to go. Was curious when the SCCM would show up. What sync are you on? I've got 980 installed with another pending which should bring it up to 10xx that showed up last week.
