I’m using the PL2320
I have both of the ones I mentioned and ended up buying the PL6100 when it was clear that the 2320 wasn't going to keep the battery going during long updates.

Others have posted in the Mach-E forums that instead of buying a comparatively expensive PL6100, that they instead just bought a second PL2320 and daisy chained the two to keep the level up above the minimum (10.0v I think is the threshold for failure).

You can pull one of the clamp covers off to do this:

I wish I had thought of that before spending the money on the PL6100 instead. But all of my chargers get used around the garage anyway. So it hasn't gone to waste.

Alternatively, and as a temporary solution you can just pull another vehicle alongside and use jumper cables with the engine running on the other vehicle. I had to do this on my first IPC update. I got the bigger PL6100 after that experience.

I have been able to do all the updates on my 21 up to and past BlueCruise and full screen CarPlay with an old 15A Schumacher battery charger, no power supply mode. I believe the key is to make sure your battery is fully charged before starting and not starting at a low state of charge.

Honestly the idea of idling a second vehicle with jumper cables attached isn't the worst idea I've ever heard. Beats an expensive power supply unit anyway. The best thing to use would be some sort of industrial/lab use adjustable power supply. Those can commonly be had to output a clean voltage of your choosing up to 30a or so. Ebay is a good place to find one used. Those can be handy for all sorts of activities other than flashing a vehicle module.

Just don't be tempted to use the 12VDC lead from your portable generator. That is a great way to kill an AGM battery.

Is there a way to figure out what version of APIM you are currently upgrading to in FDRS. Last week I had two different dealers look at my truck. Dealer one said no updated on APIM. Second dealer said same thing. But there was update for GWM. They did that update, refreshed it then APIM update showed up.
they did APIM update. But my current sync version is 22192 rev 498.
my OTA updates are not coming in at all. Never seen it update. No notifications at all
Past Friday I ended up buying a mongoose cable. Last night I’ve installed FDRS and did a network scan. There are more updates. No APIM update, but there is another GWM update. My guess is after I do the GWM update, APIM update will come up on the next scan.
does anyone know what is sync 22192 equivalent to in power up update version ?

My truck did 2 gwm and 2 apim yesterday. Some won’t show until you do others. I showed no gwm or apim until I did the ipma

I just ordered some heavy duty 16 foot jumper cables for delivery tonight from Amazon. Update has been running for A little over 2 hours now. Voltage fluctuates between 13.7-13.9 the whole time so far. If it is the battery and this update fails again I’ll idle my truck to get my dads updated that is being a PIA.

It being purple means its erased. It will need to be PMI or if it will let you the Software update. I would do the PMI on the IPC at this point.

Dont worry though.. It will come back it is savable.
failed the sw update again right at the end. Trying the PMI on the IPC now.

Is I still purple? It may have failed configuration. If that is what happened it should at least work now

I didn’t check. It was at around 96000 blocks of 99000 when all of as sudden it disconnected from the truck. I took that image right before it failed.

@Jesse-Infotainment the PMI did it. I did change the power supply to charge instead of power supply mode. That’s what I had used to get my platinum all updated for blue cruise. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but figured I would give that a shot.
