Thanks...Will give it a try this weekend. When is the best time to get a license for over a weekend? I remember seeing something about getting, just can't remember when or where... getting old...LOL
If you’re talking about the two-day license, buy it early in the morning on the first day you intend to use it. You’ll get that day plus two full calendar days after that—effectively three days.

I will compare it to mine and will let you know. It is likely your truck is already on current version
My 22 job 1 truck is showing the IPMA update in FDRS as well. My current version is below which is is different than what @Snakebitten is showing for his 22 Job 2 truck.

Ford F-150 ECU module programming guide using FDRS IPMA.PNG

@iceman77 - did you notice any difference after the IPMA update? My truck is going in for the steering column wire recall in two weeks and I asked the dealer to do the IPMA update then as well (got scared in doing it myself with having to recalibrate cameras after the update).

@Kanuck

Please ensure you do a couple of things before starting the programming, that some folks don't intuitively know to do:

With your laptop plugged in to the charger, right-click the little battery icon in the lower right of the taskbar and select "Power Options" and then select "High Performance" as your power plan.

And then take it a step further...select "Change Advanced Power Settings".

Since you don't want your performance impacted by power saving of any kind you need to step through things and select "Never" for all power saving things in the "Plugged in" settings.

This means anything to do with the display, the hard drive and very importantly any USB or network devices (USB selective suspend should be Disabled, etc), Wireless adapter set to Max Performance, Processor power management, set to 100% when plugged in, and Hibernate after x minutes set to "Never".

You don't want any interruptions. There are members on this forum who have not realized they had these items set incorrectly for maximum performance-wide-awake-three-espresso-shot-full-tilt-boogie and had their session fail in the middle of things like an IPC update.

You don't want it to all end in tears....

I would consider this the minimum level of things to adjust for your laptop. I don't know what other programs you may have running in the background on your laptop, but I have taken precautions to ensure that nothing unnecessary is running on mine so as to not interfere. I do allow the MS anti-virus to stay enabled, as I have never experienced any functional issues with it enabled.

Great suggestion... Don't forget to make sure your computer is well ventilated :) otherwise it will overheat and power off (learned this lesson after 4 hours of updating the IPC)

Also... Disable any antivirus software, Turn off Windows update's so nothing is downloading in the background or trying to restart the laptop. Name your USB drive (stick) no more than 8 alpha numeric characters only, no spaces no other characters.

Alternative to giving the USB drive a name, just leave it blank. I think Windows defaults to "New Volume", I just delete that every time and leave it empty.

I have a question I would like to have answered before I get a FDRS license.

I bought a Mongoose from one of the members on this site and should get it tomorrow. I downloaded FDRS and the Mongoose driver. I installed FDRS on my laptop, and it recommended a i5/i7 dual core running at 2.4GHZ and a SSD. My laptop is a quad Core N3700 running at 1.6 GHZ with a 1 TB hard drive. Anyone know it this system will be Ok or should I upgrade to a i5/i7 system? I am running Windows 10, 64 bit OS.

I plan to move my modem/ WIFI into my garage , close to the truck. And have a battery charger connected as well. When a member, on this forum, was kind enough to look up what outstanding updates I had. As of 7/6/22, I had PCM, ABS, ACM & SCCM.

I am at 2.8.3 ( From what I figured out, could be wrong)

Any thoughts?
In addition to the good suggestions above, if you’re ambitious consider upgrading your hard drive to an SSD. It’s easy to clone and swap out a hard drive, a 1TB SSD can be had for less than $80, a USB adapter to do the cloning is less than $10 and good cloning software can be downloaded for free. Your laptop is a little slow. It will work fine as is but an SSD will make it boot up and run much faster. Plus, an SSD is more resistant to bumps and short drops—a good feature in the garage.

And don't forget to check the state of charge (in percentage) shown on the display of your charger to make sure it's above 80% before starting to program. If it's below that just set it to charge up and go get coffee and come back in 10 minutes to check it again, then set it to powersupply mode to do your programming.

I used a laptop with the i3 processor since that's all I could find at Best Buy at the time and it worked fine.

I had to put a fan in the back seat blowing on my computer in the Texas heat.

For anyone looking, the NOCO Genius 10 charger is on sale for Prime Day. It offers a 10A power supply mode. Not quite as good as the recommended option, but probably decent for Powerboost trucks or smaller updates.

Anything stand out on my ‘21 job 2 truck?

My SYNC screen came back on its own after being black for a month.

High performance, Never, Never Selected. I have a few things running at start-up that I will disable when I go to update. Thanks for all the advice.
