Auto update off, schedule cleared and wifi off but I still get this each time I start truck. Any suggestions?

So to drill down into this a bit...what version of Sync do you have now in your truck (Sync About)?

And would this be a normal progression of OTAs for your truck or is this out of the ordinary/out of sequence? Some people have been offered OTAs recently that would actually take them back to previous software versions (if they had allowed the update to proceed).

This version you're being offered is several versions before BlueCruise functionality comes into effect. Can I assume you do not have BlueCruise at this point?
I am trying to prevent it from installing an old update. I already have bluecruise
I was just about to ask that.

Welcome to the club. You're now something like the 5th person who has posted this issue.

Yeah I would not install that update. It will eventually timeout and fail.

I would however, contact your service department and ask them to pull up your VIN in the OTA dashboard in PTS and report this issue through their channels.

I don't remember what the timeout period is. I just heard from a forum member on the MME forums that this OTA revision thing was supposed to have been fixed. It is possible that this OTA for you was still in queue and has just not run out the clock yet.

I would just continue to close it instead of updating. It will eventually fail and stop.

After my OTA software downgrade was queued up and I turned off auto updates, I was getting some odd screen pop ups. They went away after I rebooted sync (press radio power and fast forward at the same time). Try that if you haven’t already. Double check that auto updates are still turned off after the sync reboot.

Anyone out there that just finished up their updates for the weekend and able to check my VIN? I might want to risk a very likely chance of certain death from this Texas heat and get a license again if there is something EXTRA awesome to download. It's safe to sit in a truck and attempt to run updates while dripping sweat in 105 degree temperatures, right?

I was hoping to get some done today as well, but second guessing sitting out there in 106 and having the laptop overheat in the middle of it.

Mine is off... Does this include FDRS updates?

No. I doubt it would show a backward reversion to an earlier module update in FDRS. This is an OTA thing exclusively from what I can see.

And I just checked his VIN and he also only has the "ever-present" GSM update that folks can't seem to get rid of. So no APIM, GWM, TCU updates that would take him back to an earlier revision.

So just keep canceling the update attempts and it will go away.

GSM update bug was fixed about six weeks or so ago. It now installs and clears the queue normally.

Would someone mind checking my VIN to advise if there are any updates? I did a full round of updates 4-6 weeks ago to enable BC, but now my truck has a shudder under light throttle, which seems to be solved with another calibration update for the PCM according to a recently released TSB. I'd just like to be sure before I buy another FDRS license. Thank you.

I have a question I would like to have answered before I get a FDRS license.

I bought a Mongoose from one of the members on this site and should get it tomorrow. I downloaded FDRS and the Mongoose driver. I installed FDRS on my laptop, and it recommended a i5/i7 dual core running at 2.4GHZ and a SSD. My laptop is a quad Core N3700 running at 1.6 GHZ with a 1 TB hard drive. Anyone know it this system will be Ok or should I upgrade to a i5/i7 system? I am running Windows 10, 64 bit OS.

I plan to move my modem/ WIFI into my garage , close to the truck. And have a battery charger connected as well. When a member, on this forum, was kind enough to look up what outstanding updates I had. As of 7/6/22, I had PCM, ABS, ACM & SCCM.

I am at 2.8.3 ( From what I figured out, could be wrong)

Any thoughts?

Your laptop should be fine.
Thanks...Will give it a try this weekend. When is the best time to get a license for over a weekend? I remember seeing something about getting, just can't remember when or where... getting old...LOL
