This is a general question about that 22B08 Module Recovery CSP....

What?

I know what it is but why is it showing up as something we need to take the vehicle in for?

If the GWM is up to date in FDRS and the tech goes in to PTS and sees that you have gotten an OTA for the GWM and that your BlueCruise expiration is a date in the future... then you're done?

I've got this showing as something I need to do (in ETIS) as well as BlueCruise 21G01 (BTDT) but I'm not clear on why this would apply.

Does Ford think I have a stuck module or something? I have nothing showing as needing to be updated. Unfortunately there is no table that I've seen that shows what the latest released software versions should be (and folks with NDAs aren't saying anything).

So again, if anybody can explain what this program is trying to achieve I'd be grateful.

Thanks for that info Mike. I think that long list of updates is for my truck. I took it in and asked them to update to get Blue Cruise working. They told me they have successfully updated a couple of trucks before mine. They have done something since I dropped it off yesterday, as now I have the horn and lights option in FordPass where I didn’t before. I just don’t want to spend $1000+ on equipment to do the updates that I feel like should be on Ford to get it working. I’m not sure if all of those updates are Bluecruise related or not, but it seems like they would just do them all since they are already working on some.
Totally understand...and here's the kicker...on a Job 1 Mach-E there is a Customer Satisfaction program 21P22 that does pay for a bunch of those updates in your list but it doesn't apply to F-150s.

You can see by the attached 21G01 instructions what they will be updating to get BlueCruise working.

I've attached the CSP 21P22 as a reference simply to show you what Mach-E owners get updated as well. And note that in the 21G01 BlueCruise instructions that apply to both vehicles...at step 19 if you're working on a Mach-E...you stop and go back and make sure all the CSP 21P22 updates are done prior to proceeding to finish the BlueCruise procedures.

That doesn't happen if you're working on a F-150 to get BlueCruise sorted.

So things like your BECM, Door modules, SOBDMC, ABS, etc....don't get updated if you are doing an F-150.

I guess they think all this stuff will get fixed by an OTA eventually.....

Best guess, the systems aren't linked together and they don't have a good way to filter out trucks that don't need the CSPs based on software revisions from the trucks that do require the updates. So what ends up happening is that they just put the programs in for all trucks, even if they no longer apply. It could be an easy way for a dealership to milk the system to get paid from Ford by billing for work that couldn't be or didn't need to be done.

Ohhhh no IPC soup for you!

Audio and GSM who cares..but I would have hoped they would have the common decency and forthrightitudeiness to at least cover down on the IPC and make it look there was a reason they came to work today.

You mean like...cleared the item from your ETIS? Or actually performed the procedural steps?

Did you have a stuck GWM, TCU, or APIM?

yeah, i wanted them to do whatever they need to do to acknowledge it isnt needed any more. it did have update failures, but i corrected that myself. i just wanted them to solve it out. i pushed back and they took it around back again for a few minutes and then came back and said it was done. we'll see if anything changes on the app in the next day or two.

Well the dealership just called and said all is good and working. He said it took 19 updates so I guess we shall see …

Well as an after action report I ran your VIN:

I guess they didn't want to do your trailer controller recall. That's weird.

Yeah I don’t know either. I’m not sure if they got Bluecruise working or not. But I have now lost my AC/heated seats. Anyone know what I need to have done to fix that. I’d rather have my cooled seats back than BC. Geezzzz

Blue Cruise will work. I looked at your vin. They do need to do that final APIM update ot have the Hands free options display..

They need to run a self test on the DSM

Thanks Jesse for the info. Honestly though I’d rather have my AC seats than Blue Cruise.
