In my case GWM was not available until I installed the first APIM. During my 2 day process there were several times selecting one module installed 2 or 3 modules with the same download. All very confusing for a newbie because the same modules would reappear again after installing other modules. In the end I think I installed the APIM module 3 or 4 times. All a blur now but I felt like it was never going to end as the same modules (obviously with a new version) kept popping up.
That is not uncommon when you start out and there are a lot of updates in the queue. The process can be iterative. You update a module. Then two more show up. Those updates unlock another update for one of the earlier modules you just did. Frequently—but not always—two passes through the same module during the same session are actually installing two different software versions. Update to the update. Although it might seem like whack-a-mole at times, you actually are making forward progress.

As for the GWM, if it doesn’t present right away but presents later in the session, do that update as soon as FDRS will let you.

The Mongoose for Ford is back in stock on Amazon—for now. So getting one shouldn’t be problematic.

As for the $500 up front cost, it’s steep but you might find more use for it than this one occasion. It works well with FORScan.
Just starting to spin up on FORScan after learning the basics of FDRS. I don't see the Mongoose listed as a compatible device with FORScan in any of the "how to" posts. Any trick to using it with FORScan?

Nope. Just select it in the menu and it works.

The Nano wasn’t approved either, and it worked, too. Both are faster than the ELM-based devices.

EDIT: I misspoke. the FORScan website does say that it supports J-2534 Pass-Thru adapters. https://forscan.org/home.html. Although neither the Mongoose nor the Nano are mentioned by name, both are J-2534 devices.

It isnt really corruption. The updates are failing to load both locations. The files are fine. I told the ne guy on here asking what is wrong and asking for help exactly what his issue was. He said ford had it. So Ill let ford handle him. The IPC update has been an issue from day one. SOme people it loads fine some it doesnt. I dont know why.. I can fix it for anyone though.

The updates are sequenced. You cant get to the next update until ford sees the previous update done. So if the IPC isnt up to date it wont release the next APIM update.

As soon as I fix the peoples clusters the next update shows immediately after a scan.
My Dealer has given up on fixing the failed load. As you told me earlier in the week mine failed on the seconf half of the load. I do not have FDRS so I am unable to do anything on my own. you mentioned you can fix this for anyone but can you please explain how ? I have picked up my truck from the dealer as they aew not making any further effort to fix it. I was just sitting on their lot.

Yours failed on the large half. Until that half is loaded no further updates will come available. As soon as its updated youll be able to proceed. Let me pull your vin.

Unless youre willing to buy the mongoose though there may be no options for you. Everyone I have helped remotely has the ability to plug into their trucks

Its bad when you can’t rely on your dealer to fix recalls. Then they clearly flat out lie and say they updated it to fix the recall. I doubt they even tried to do the BlueCruise update because they parked the truck in their back lot for 7 hours before they even touched it.
have you contacted ford to see who can help ? I am in the same situation and frustrated !

I cant answer anythign to do with what a dealer can or cant do.

have you contacted ford to see who can help ? I am in the same situation and frustrated !
this happened Wednesday of this week and I have little hope that ford will help. Last time I called I had to explain to them what BlueCruise was and then they just read a Two year old document about how it would be available at the end of the year 2021. They didn’t know anything after that. So I have never had luck calling ford.

what are the stpes that you would suggest to me if I purchased the cable to connect to truck ?

I was performing the TSB 22-2117 today and I get this error:" Exception trying to obtain diagnostic files from the backend server to repair this vehicle. This could indicate the VIN has been locked out." It is very repeatable.

I am new to my monogoose, but I have gotten numerous other updates through. Anyone know what my error message really means? Of course APIM did not work, I had no GWM update listed.

GWM first, then fire at will. FDRS will keep the order for you and update multiple at one time if needed.
