I couldn't agree more with ya. Do you think my sync version/revision would still be blank if the update took though? I've had the vehicle communications turned off and that was my ticket to get out of update limbo (i.e got version numbers back) to get the update to kick off initially, but I don't know if the update needs the comms enabled to finish the update.
Once you scan it with FDRS, it will sync up with the mothership, so having comms on or off don't matter now. I agree the Sync version should be displaying something. Have you tried rebooting the APIM?

I haven't done a master or soft reset of it yet, I thought about trying a module reset either apim or gwm in Forscan, but I didn't know if that would cause issues since supposedly its trying to perform an update.

At this point, I would reboot them.

Well fellas, I have some phenomenal news to report. The update downloaded and prompted to restart vehicle, so this time around I turned it off and left it for 2 hours. I came back this evening to success! I now am on sync version 21146 revision 145. I have now been able to update my gateway module, tcu, and currently working on the next apim update!

Yea, a few people have reported a GVMS warning with the ACM recently. Open the case and let Ford do their thing. It will be a bit before they get to it and lift it.
The ACM update came back but like last time it doesn't clear after loading it.

I also had a new TRM update that I loaded today.

Hi All - Long time lurker, first time poster ;-) First of all thank you to all who have helped make this forum such a wealth of information. I recently was quoted ~$500 to update the IPMA and APIM by my dealer... assholes. That finally put a fire under my butt to get the cable and just check/update the truck myself. I found about 10 hours worth of updates needed to be done. Fast Forward, updates are all done, I have BC 1.4, stereo sounds amazing, and I've made a number of tweaks using Forescan app but have encountered two issues/questions:

Issue 1: I've tried to update truck to enable cameras at speed and front camera from LivinItUp's sheet but most cameras still dont appear once you start drive above 5pm. Anyone have ideas or suggestions on what to try to troubleshoot?

Issue2: After doing all the updates the RCM module is throwing DTC U053C. I clear it and it comes right back with same error, "Invalid Data Received from Image Processing Module 'B'. I'm not sure how serious this is or if its just a software issue with no real world effect. Any ideas? I have reset/rebooted module. No change.

TIA for any help or suggestions!

I don't think that code is anything to worry about. The code you need to address is PCM code U031D. The attached TSB tells you how to fix it. That should get rid of the hard fault your truck is reporting.

The config for cameras at speed seem to be properly enabled in the IPMA. I would double check and changes you made to the APIM to troubleshoot that.

@rugedraw - interesting thing, started the car yesterday evening and the unreal theme is gone. I double checked APIM changes I made and all are in line with livn's sheet. No new cameras at speed and now unreal theme and climate bar dont show on bottom of screen.

I cleared the PCM DTC and ran the configuration from the TSB and errors are cleared. Thank you!

One new issues has presented, hoping someone might have suggestion. Running boards make loud whinning (running motor) noise for 3-4 seconds after running boards have been deployed. I ran the self test, no issues and didnt make the noise. Seems like module needs to relearn where down is. Thoughts?

Not sure why the unreal theme disappeared; that's weird. Try rebooting the APIM.

As far as the running boards: Get a pressure cleaner and wash all dirt and grime from the brackets that fold them up and down. Then, spray the joints generously with WD40 or some silicone based lubricant. Run the self-test on the DSM again.

Car just threw a whole slew of additional errors, I cleared them and restarted but now there is a new one with SACM that cant get to go away. I tried to search for TSB info on it but cant find much. I ran the PCSM configuration and tried to reboot both but still there. @rugedraw - any ideas?

Really hope I'm not destroying my truck...
