I tried, same error... " PMI application ended with an error state"
There was a guy here that did this recently. He just got lucky though. I'll dig up the TSB that Ford came out with to try and reprogram your apim. It requires certain usb and Ethernet adapters to be able to plug directly into the module. Even then, the success rate is very low. I'll attach it to this post in a bit.

This is not your fault. The issue is on Ford's side. It is not releasing the next GWM you need to be able to continue through the process. You may have to keep my Mongoose a bit longer and get another license. Does your license expire tonight?
@sbi You will need help from Jesse to be able to progress, but I don't want to bother him now. Update every other module you can in the meantime. If you haven't done the PSCM/IPMA yet, those will take 3 hours so keep that in mind. Don't start either one unless you have the time to see them through.

I bought the license yesterday morning, so if I understand correctly it is valid until tomorrow night.

I went through and finished everything I had. The only thing in the SW Updates tab is the BCM which cannot be done because of the NATSF login. I had at least 5 new GWM that kept coming. I did GWM the first thing, then other modules and every now and then a new GWM showed up.

This is my current status after about a dozen "Rerun Network Test":

I did the multi module update repair yesterday and that's what got me to at least have a sync version show up.. before it was blank and didn't show the ota software update, it was grayed out.
I saw the pic you posted. Unfortunately, people MUCH better at this than you or I have tried to do what you're doing and failed miserably. It's a matter of luck. If FDRS pulls the files, it pulls the files. If it doesn't, then it doesn't.

Attached is the TSB that has a maybe 10% chance of fixing the APIM.

Thanks for the help, that's the TSB I followed yesterday that got me a software number.. but I'm thinking the is a bigger issue since I can't get anything more to update... I get the same application error for all of them.. (IPMA, PSCM, APIM, IPC)... I'll wait to get enough feedback from others before purchasing another license and trying again.. I do appreciate all the help.

The APIM updated. I have full screen Carplay. My truck is a 2021. Crazy how this truck never updated. I do have one issue though. The Ford logo on start up only shows 1/4 of the screen. I attached a photo. Have you ever dealt with that?

Also, I PMI the APIM yesterday since I couldn't get it to work. The APIM update would not get passed the first step on FDRS. Just some info for anybody that needs it.

I already messaged him, but this is a tomorrow thing at this point. Many vehicles hit a wall at Sync 23159 where the next GWM needed to keep going doesn't show up for some reason. In most cases, he can help. I'll message you.

Reset the APIM. See if that helps.

Can't hurt since you say every update gives same error message.

Can't hurt since you say every update gives same error message.
Yes, tried them all.. reboot, shut down, uninstall, reinstall.. 300gb free space..

My truck's updates are finally complete. Thanks again for all the help from everyone in this thread and behind-the scenes!!

Two changes - good and bad - in the behavior of cruise control that I noticed while driving this morning:

The good: I use standard cruise control, not adaptive. Before the update, whenever I turned CC ON, I would get an alert about auto braking or something not working because I was not using adaptive CC. This was annoying. This warning is now gone when I turn CC ON.

The bad: When I turn CC ON now after the updates, Lane Keeping Assist turns on by itself. This is extremely annoying. I want CC, not LKA. If I want LKA, there is a separate button for that. I want to decide when to turn it on/off.

Is there a way to fix that? I searched the Driver Assistance menu but didn't see anything related to that.
