ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I did have to double tap to release my tailgate. One of my few OTA's I did get caused the change to double tap. Both in the truck or on the tailgate. I have the the CSB for tailgate opening for my truck. My tailgate has never opened on its own.

That is so strange ? was your truck double tap from day one, or did double tap come ota/fdrs and now it has reverted back somehow?

Since I did several FDRS updates, I have had to double tap the tailgate button. Prior to no, after yes. Single tap on fob button and dash button, both before and after.

My buttons changed to double tap inside truck and at tailgate when I ran one of the updates on FDRS. Had message pop up telling me to alert the customer about it. Got me curious if recent BCM update going around reverted that. ?

The double tap update has gotta be close to a year old by now? Or at least the first time it was discussed here?
Ford purposely made the programming change for a specific truck configuration, if I remember correctly. Not all trucks get it. I don't think the tailgates with motorized up/down get the double tap?

I'm old though. My recall is suspect.

I stepped up through all of the BCM updates on my J1 2021 since new, and a fully expected that at some point mine would have changed to the double tap.
And as @fordtruckman2003 says in the previous post FDRS told you to inform the customer of the change. This never happened to me?.
I honestly don't no why my truck never changed to double tap. When doing updates in FDRS and I did all of them. I like the single tap on the gate and dash and it has never inadvertently open so I'll leave it that way
Our dash switches have only a icon of the tailgate on them. If I remember correctly the J2 2022 and forward now have a 2x and tailgate picture on the dash switch, similar to the key fob.
I also think that the guys figured out how to change this in forscan, you could check the spreadsheet and compare it to your as built

Yeah, that is what I was thinking if it did change back to single tap then the change should be visible in asbuilt comparison.

Do you have the tailgate CSP listed for your truck in FordPass? Entirely possible your VIN was somehow excluded. FDRS has an option for the button but the only options I can do are disabled or double press.

I have J2 2022 and my dash tailgate button does not have "2X" on it.
to open/close tailgate via key fob - I have always had to press 2X
To open/close tailgate via dash button - I have always only needed to press the button on the dash one time

According to Livitup spread sheet this is the single/double tap for the tailgate. I guess the last OTA changed it back to single tap.

I updated this morning and used it to take a f550 out of shipping mode and did not have any issues... but also did not try to update any modules... on a side note... I really cant believe how many chassis cabs we get in here that have so many updates pending right from the factory..
