I tried it and it tells me the website cannot display the page with the error HTPP 500 Internal Server Error. I have been struggling with this for over 2 hours.
Try the credentials you are using for FDRS on Ford.com and see if they work there. If they do, I’m not sure what the issue is. If they don’t, you might need to try another set of credentials or reset your password or something. Same credentials should work in both places.

I did not use my email for the user name for Motorcraft because I did not see it in the instructions to do it that way. I looked to see if I could change my user name but the only thing I can change is the password. The Ford page wants my email.

Ignore the instructions. They were written two years ago and many parts of it are out of date. You have to use an email. No choice. Motorcraftservice, Ford.com and FDRS all require an email now. Usernames have been phased out.

In that case, you may need to make a new account.

I used it to buy the license.AM i going to need to buy it again?
No. The license portal uses different log in credentials. That is a helminc.com website. Helm is a ford affiliate.

Are you using FordPass? If so, those are the same creds you want to use for FDRS and Ford.com.

@UNCGrad . To clarify, you bought your license here. https://www2.helminc.com/ngsm/login...410BA4B8399B741F7D08&from=ford&src=motorcraft. The username and password you used here are valid ONLY for buying licenses. Keep them in place for future use. But these credentials are not valid for FordPass, Ford.com, Motorcraftservice.com and FDRS. You need different credentials (an email and password) to use these services. So, you have one set of creds for buying licenses through Helm and a separate set of credentials for all other Ford resources.

I finally got signed into FDR. - Thanks to the responses. Since apparently, the instructions at the top of the thread are not up to date, is there somewhere else I am supposed to be referencing?

Nope. Nobody has gone back and synthesized the two years of collective wisdom.

For the most part, you can follow it. I re-read it a few days ago. Just follow the instructions in FDRS....don't rush....take your time and read everything. When it asks you to turn the ignition on, wait a few seconds before hitting "ok" in FDRS. When you come across a USB update, follow the instructions on the laptop and the touchscreen of the truck and just remember to NEVER remove the USB until the touchscreen specifically says it is ok to do so.

Post pics here if you have any hang-ups and we'll help you out. The PSCM and IPMA updates are tied together, and the IPMA takes 3 hours to do, so don't start any of those updates unless you have the time to see them through. Update GWM, APIM and TCU modules as they appear.

Logging in for the first to FDRS has proven to be a tedious process for many people with the more recent releases of FDRS. Try this:

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/ecu-module-programming-guide-using-fdrs.8249/post-414495

@rpold150 Try this, too.
I didn't have to do this. My problem was I picked the wrong login type and switched to the independent, and then it opened another page to log in with Motorcraft credentials (email addr).

I spent most of my time getting my odb adapters to work with my new laptop and backed up all forscan data.

I'm in FDRS now doing my first update, APIM. So far so good.

Is this the right group to ask about PTS?
I need some wiring diagram and other stuff. I got the software running but can't get my mongoose to connect. Works fine with fdrs.
Do I need something different than my mongoose?

Do you use the OBD to scan for PTS?

I've never even tried to.

It's been a bit since I used PTS, if I remember correctly I just put my VIN in manually. Never hooked up to the truck, like FDRS.

I almost made it through. I updated a chain of GWM, APIM, IPC, and TCU until all of those were gone. I only had one hiccup where as it was validating the updates and showed about 8 "Pass", all of a sudden it had a failure. I chose the option to run the validation check and everything passed.

I am stuck though. I had an update on PSCM that also would run the IPMA update. It finished the PSCM, and when it started the IPMA, it said the batter SOC was too low. It said it could continue but might fail the update, or I could cancel. I cancelled, bumped the amps on the charger up from 10 to 20., did some other updates while the battery charged up.

The PSCM module shows Gray in FDRS and one update is left for IPMA. When I run the IPMA update, it finishes quickly and tells me the following error. I do have a IPMA from Ebay that was PMI'd and configured for auto park assist. I'm not sure if that is the problem or it is because it didn't run the IPMA update along with the PSCM update. I'm thinking this will need some help from @Jesse-Infotainment.

I'm done for the night and will try again in the morning. I haven't driven it yet, but it does have power steering and it does not have any check engine lights on the dash.
