ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Well, this is a slow start for me with FDRS. Just bought the 2 day license. I can't even log into FDRS. I have a motorcraft account using my email address. I created a helm account to purchase FDRS using a shorter username (my email was too long for the username field). I've tried both in FDRS and get the below errors. Clicking the "here" link to change or reset password results in a broken page at motorcraft. Am I doing something wrong, or is the FDRS / Motorcraft server down? I was able to log into motorcraftservice earlier, but now it seems to be down.

Avoid doing updates on weekends, particularly NEVER ON SUNDAY! As in never. It might work, or it might not.

From the screenshot, it looks like you are using the wrong User Type. You don’t want Non-Dealer ETIS. You want Independent Operator/Non-Dealer.

Still shouldn't throw a 404. If that is causing it then motorcraft has a different problem to fix.

I’m in. The server is not down. And there’s no harm in trying the correct user type to see if it works.

My last IPC updated ran overnight from Saturday into Sunday and the servers went down mid-job. It did eventually come back up and finish the second half and the verification, but I for sure thought I was going to be side-loading to get back on track.

I tried the ignition on/engine off a few times, then I tried the engine running a few times and it stayed the same. However, when I logged back on, and before running the test again, nothing was gray, but the Bcm is also now orange.

The current version is 23159 and revision 915.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Ok, this was the problem. Page 1 of this thread said Non-Dealer Motorcraft and I guess I saw Non-Dealer ETIS. I changed to Independent Op and it took me to the motorcraft login screen. Thanks!

I was trying earlier to login and could not. After about an hour I finally was able to login at around 2:30pm est.

I had my computer crash while doing one of those 5+ hour module updates and had a mild heart attack thinking the worst. Jesse saved me and told me how to fix the module and everything was good again.

The login for Motorcraft doesn't work. I see where someone said your user name has to be your email. I did not do that as I did not see it in the instructions. Can I change the Motorcraft username?

Ford standardized log-in credentials. Try the same email and password you use to log into Ford.com.

EDIT: The instructions on page 1 for logging in are no longer accurate. Non-Dealer Motorcraft was phased out as a user type several months ago. It is now Independent Operator/Non-Dealer. And when you use that user type, it takes you to a Ford log-in screen that accepts the same credentials you use to log into Ford.com, Fordpass, etc.

There currently is a stack error on that log in page. Ignore it. And when you type in your credentials, it will flash briefly and it will seem like the creds were not accepted. Don’t worry. Give it a second. Eventually it will take you back to FDRS.

I tried it and it tells me the website cannot display the page with the error HTPP 500 Internal Server Error. I have been struggling with this for over 2 hours.
