ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Hello, first post, I hope I m following the correct protocol throwing the question here instead of starting a new one, it seemed to fit. I am trying to log into FDRS to update some modules instead of the dealer charging me 2,100.00 to do it. I have FDRS installed and it is communicating with my mongoose just fine (Green Light indicator in lower right hand corner) My 2 day license shows valid that I purchased from the Motorcraft site which I can logon to just fine. Every time I try to log into FDRS I am getting an authentication error. Windows 11 with defender turned off and the firewall completely open. When I run the test network button, it shows FDSP an login server fail, license and internet pass. (Picture attached) I have heard that FDRS goes down a bunch on the weekend for maintenance, might this be the issue or is there something else keeping me from logging in? Thanking the community in advance.

I needed to do this last week.

Windows 11 is known to be very finicky.

I’m not sure how much you can or cannot post on this forum around the topic. Safe bet is to google your answer. Many many threads on it.

Pretty sure Ford would be good with me making sure I am buying the real deal opposed to a fake/clone/knock-off...

I’m also unable to login to FDRS all afternoon. I just tried again and still can’t login. I’ve switched versions several times with no success.

I've had the same issue for at least the last two months. Just ignore those updates, the issue is on Ford's side.

Strange that they jumped to not only a new major rev (38 to 39) but then all the way to 39.6.2

One can only imagine all the reasons all those other minor revisions in between were scrapped

“New” DSP update dropped this morning on FDRS for the unleashed. Don’t know about other B&O variants. It is a re-release of the update that dropped last May that Ford subsequently recalled. F188 updated to -BN.

Uh... Pretty sure I installed that and didn't know it was recalled. ?

Check your version. Mine went from -BH to -BN in May ‘23. Then it went from -BN to -BK in July. Now it’s back to -BN.

Is this the fix for the one that made the speakers pop everytime you opened one of the doors or the tailgate after unlocking? Mine still does that.

I think that was the intention, but who knows? This particular version was a problem for some people last year because after installation it was causing misdirected chimes to the cluster. And it wasn’t clear it actually fixed anything. Since mine rolled back to -BK last summer I’ve gotten IPC and ACM updates so maybe Ford decided to give -BN another shot.

I’m not sure I’m reading the PTS output correctly, but it looks to me like it wants to give you -BK, which was my interim version. ML3T-14C589-BK. -BJ has the wrong core.

I'll confirm in FDRS later when I get home. I don't like to do ACM/DSP updates. I like the way everything is sounding right now and prefer to leave it as it is.
