Interesting. Thanks.Others have gotten their Mongoose to work with IDS by replacing the USB drivers. I haven’t tried it, but I thought it was confirmed as possible a few years ago.

I’m assuming that if a guy does this to use IDS you would then have to revert it all back to them use FDRS?Others have gotten their Mongoose to work with IDS by replacing the USB drivers. I haven’t tried it, but I thought it was confirmed as possible a few years ago.

Well I thought I was done, but I checked once more this morning before my FDRS license times out and the PSCM and IPMA update showed up for my truck. Grabbed the laptop, battery tender, and VCM 2 to update more modules. Does anyone know what this latest IPMA update will offer to the older 2021 Job1 trucks?Just went through a full update on my 2021 F150 Powerboost Platinum Job1 truck after last updating it in 2022 for BC. I ended up replacing the 12V AGM battery today at nearly the 3-year mark due to low SOC error during the APIM update, even after being charged for 24 hours. Went through about 12 or so updates (APIM, BCM, DDM, PDM, TCU, IPC, CCM, ABS, PCM, SCCM, etc.). I had problems on two modules, the BCM and the IPC. The BCM programmed fine, but then failed at the configuration phase. Tried it again with the same issue. Reached out to Jesse and he suggested I perform a PMI. Prior to doing that, it would not complete the BMS reset procedure for the new battery either, but after doing the PMI, that went through. The IPC updated via USB, but then FDRS complained about a communication error, and the cluster was not happy. It was flashing that it was in valet mode, and other warnings. Restarted FDRS and tried it again, but this time it skipped the USB update and went straight into programming through the OBD2 port. After it finished updating and configuration, all of the weird warnings in the cluster went away.
It was certainly more eventful today than the first time I did this with even more modules, but it still had me out in the driveway on and off for about 5 hours today. All good now and no DTCs. My truck has a very good OTA history, but I wasn't driving it during December, and it missed the APIM and BCM updates, so I decided to spend the $50 and get the truck updated. I bought the PremiumCare warranty this week for 10 years, 100k miles, and also paid for BC for three more years for $600. With only 7,200 miles on it, the dang thing is still like new. lol
Hard to say. Rotunda devices (VCM2, VCM3, etc.) will work on FDRS. If these driver changes trick the system into thinking the J2534 is a Rotunda device, maybe it still works. I don’t know. This hack is almost eight years old. If it’s solid, there should be more out there talking about it.I’m assuming that if a guy does this to use IDS you would then have to revert it all back to them use FDRS?
Just installed it on my 21 Plat, no problems with the headlights. You’re in good company. I think that’s why we don’t know if it’s safe for a ‘21 with quads. Nobody wants to be the first to try it. I wouldn’t want to be.
I have projectors and applied it. I haven’t noticed any changes that I am certain is tied to the BCM update. The interior chime is more obnoxious when I exit the truck and leave it running but I can’t say for sure that that wasn’t there before.
There haven’t been any headlamp problems with any trim starting with Lariat 502a and going up. It’s only 501a and below that has the headlamp issue.Just installed it on my 21 Plat, no problems with the headlights.

I just checked and I was able to login, but as you said Sunday is touch and goAnyone else having trouble logging into FDRS this morning? I know Sundays can be spotty from time to time.
Nothing yet, but do them since you have the chance.Well I thought I was done, but I checked once more this morning before my FDRS license times out and the PSCM and IPMA update showed up for my truck. For me that interior chime started after I applied the IPC update, so I don't think it's the BCM. It also re-enabled the dummy warning when reversing with the sonar off. You’re in good company. Thanks. IPMA and PSCM updates were applied. Took about 3.5 hours. No other updates showing after exiting FDRS and rescanning. I had no issues with FDRS logging in today.Nothing yet, but do them since you have the chance.
Which headlights though???Just installed it on my 21 Plat, no problems with the headlights.
Mike
You have a platinum? The quad led.
Mike
