I haven’t. I’ve only heard about ‘22s like @astrand1 ’s having the issue. But that doesn’t mean anything. I haven’t heard of anyone even trying it on a ‘21 with quads.
I’ve got a 21 with quads and have also been holding out on that update. Do we know what it’s supposed to fix/change?

Since I have a PB I was hoping that it might finally fix my issue of not being able to shift the truck out of park when I have something plugged into the bed outlets. Unfortunately it did not fix that problem. I noticed no difference so must be subtle changes. ?‍♂

I have a 22 also and I don’t have an issue. The truck throws a warning about something plugged in and to secure the cargo. Click ok and continue. Everything stays powered on in the bed and I can drive.

Yeah I’m told that’s what I should see but I never get any messages at all on the cluster. Just no go trying to shift. I’ve come up with a work around but it’s a pain in the ass. There is a priority update that came out last year for this but I never got it. It was an OTA but since I update with FDRS I never got it.

You’re in good company. I think that’s why we don’t know if it’s safe for a ‘21 with quads. Nobody wants to be the first to try it. I wouldn’t want to be.

I have projectors and applied it. I haven’t noticed any changes that I am certain is tied to the BCM update. The interior chime is more obnoxious when I exit the truck and leave it running but I can’t say for sure that that wasn’t there before.

I don't know if I have the update sitting in FDRS for my truck, I was just wondering if anyone heard. If I do, still not going to install it.

I would cancel your order especially since you have a VCM3...
I use my v4 adapter with FRDS and it works great.

I ordered a V5 and then cancelled it... The new adapter is only slightly faster and costs 2.5x as much... On top of that, you have to pay yearly for a license to use UCDS now...
True, but my access to a VCM3 and VCMM is limited.

A user only has to pay annually to use the UCDSYS software if they want the benefit of HP tuning, PATS access (key reprogramming) and the ability to perform millage corrections (fraud) within that specific software platform. I don't care about either and have no use for the UCDSYS software.

The adapter itself though is a fully compliant J2534-2 pass through with FD CAN which works with IDS, FRDS and ForScan independently.

I'm mainly after a cost effective third party adapter as travel friendly option for the suitcase and glove box. If a VCMM goes missing or gets damaged when I travel, I'd be substantially more pissed than losing a quality third-party cheap-o.

Why do you have fraud on there and then a line thru it?

I’m pretty sure J2534 devices don’t work with IDS. https://www.fordtechservice.dealerconnection.com/VDIRS/wds/vcm_retail_renewal_Latest.asp

Others have gotten their Mongoose to work with IDS by replacing the USB drivers. I haven’t tried it, but I thought it was confirmed as possible a few years ago.
