Is there a way to re-apply an update? I had one fail a couple of parts of it due to a connection issue however it said it completed ok so I am suspect.

Just note that I'm not recommending it. It's tricky and you only get 15 tries before it blocks your APIM from future updates and will require you to replace it, so there is some risk to it. I got to 10 tries before I tried a different computer and had it take. I was very nervous while watching it fail over and over.

Feel free to PM me before trying and I'll walk you through exactly where my tries failed and what equipment I ended up using.

I'm trying to update the APIM via USB cable and am getting this error. Firewall and antivirus are turned off and the recommended cables and connectors are being used. Any recommendations

I had this exact issue with my laptop. It was a computer related issue. Maybe a usb driver thing? I resolved it by using my desktop. Do you have a different computer you could try?

Yes I could try my wifes laptop. So Id have to start the process all over again correct?

Make sure you are using a USB 3.0 or newer...probably are, but I also got a weird error when I tried a USB2 device.

Yeah, you'll have to start over. Also need another license. Also a good suggestion to try a usb 3.0 cable before trying another computer. I was using a 2.0 cable on my attempts.

At least I assume it did. I downloaded it the second time and it asked if I wanted to replace the previos version. So I assume it loaded?

You can just transfer the license to the other computer versus getting another one if it makes sense. Just release it from your computer its on now and then use the same code on another.

Yep that’s what I did and still got the error on the other computer. Now waiting on Amazon for a USB 3.0 cable and hope that solves the problem.

Good luck, not a process that works every time when you do get it running. A few on here have got it to work though.

I was lucky my truck issues were with IPC and not APIM.

Maybe im missing something, but where does the cable come in? Were talking about updating the APIM with a USB drive right?
