Hi all! Hoping you can shed some light on what’s wrong.

Bit of background, hi have a mongoose and fdrs licence and have updated every module (successfully first time) that was available except for APIM, which is where the issue comes.

After the mahoosive download for apim (13gb) and damn ages writing it to a usb I get…
Update in progress… 66/66 files which stays like that for around 20 mins before I get Code_0

I’ve tried
  • deleting the vehicle from fdrs and letting it download the APIM update again
  • Two different usb sticks
  • 128k and 32k block sizes (exFat)

All result in the same thing.

Truck is a 21 raptor

Hi,
it was suggested that I post this here for @Jesse-Infotainment to comment on…

I had the owners manual update applied the other day, and now my rear camera button doesn’t work anymore. I typically use this at low speeds when pulling through into a parking spot. Now my camera only comes on in reverse. Been searching around, but can’t find anything to make it work again.
Does anyone know if there’s something I can adjust in Forscan?

Thanks!

Yeah the issue is the apim update causes this if you havent had the IPMA update. without your vin Im guessing that you have a job 1 21?

If so then a IPMA OTA will hit that will fix it. Its a issue of arecongif in the APIM update and software mismatch in the IPMA>

Once the IPMA OTA hits it will be fixed.

If you have a truck that isnt a job 1 21 let me know you have another issue

Thanks for the reply.
Mine is a job 2 2021. Late October build.
Here‘s my VIN: 1FTFW1E53MKE02298
Had it in the shop this week and the dealer tried to do a DSP update that apparently failed 6 times, then later the same day I got the Owner’s manual update. Then I noticed my camera button stopped working.
Thanks.

After Looking at your vin you are still apart of the waiting on a IPMA update. Your IPMA software is the older version. You will be recieving a IPMA OTA at some point if not the dealer should be able to do the update as there is a SSM about this issue.

Maybe I missed this ... but has anyone else experienced a change in shifter behavior when in drive and opening the door?
Admittedly I've not tried this in a while, but used to ... with transmission in drive, stopped, and opened the door, the shifter would move itself to park.
Today, I noticed the transmission stayed in Drive, but the parking brake came on holding the vehicle in place.
Not sure when it happened ... possibly the ABS update I did in August.
Just thought it was interesting.

Did you have your seat belt bucked or unbuckled when you opened the door?

Oof ... great question. Honestly don't recall now. Usually wear it but had just pulled up to the mailbox. Don't recall if I had already taken it off, or if it was still on.
Will have to test both scenarios to see if there's a delta.

They have done this since 21, good ol safety feature. Will automatically shift into park if in drive and not moving if the door is opened.

Now the tricky/PITA part is these fancy new shifters really seem to have sweet spots in their movement, so much like a clock, then you have to get it back into that window where it moves nice and smooth and not loud and crude enough to wake a baby. So typically if I do something and my truck decides to go to park for me, then I sit there and put it in drive then open the door multiple times until I get it back in the sweet spot. It seems to be on 1/3 or 1/4 rotations, but do it enough and you'll see what I mean.

Right. That was the expected behavior.

What I figured out (after testing) was this:

If the seatbelt is on, and door opens, transmission stays in drive, but the emergency brake activates.

If the seatbelt is off, and the door opens, the transmission moves to PARK AND the emergency brake activates.

Guess I'd never had the seatbelt on when opening the door in the past ... so I thought the behavior had changed.

Good to know we can still "re-calibrate" the fold down shift handle when it starts getting cranky by having the system automatically moving the shifter to park. For me at least, this has smoothed out the shift handle movement when it starts getting slightly out of adjustment.
I very rarely use the "fold down" option.
